Animal lore stuck at 110.2

Discussion in 'UO Tamer' started by Ethereal_Corpse, Mar 3, 2009.

  1. I can't seem to get any gains for hours now. I have been loring animals for hours and no gains. Does the locking vet still gain lore everytime?

I have been gone 6 years so i have no idea if some skills gain the same way.

    I am going

    120 animal lore
    120 taming
    120 vet
    120 magery
    120 eval
    120 med

then im going to stone eval and med to get 120 music and 120 peace and swap the 4 around when needed.

    Is this a good idea?

btw i started on atlantic shard

Also are soulstones on a 24 hour timer per use?

It's not only a good idea, it's a GREAT idea.;):) I run that identical template on two tamers, including the music skills. Additionally, I also have the ability to stone 120 disco and provo on to both as well. The versatility of such a template absolutely rocks. I move things around depending on what I'm hunting and whether I'm going solo or in a group. It makes the characters more useful in virtually every situation you find.

Soulstones do havea 24 hour cooldown period. If you don't have lots of extra ones lying around, you at least want to accept the fact that whatever template you're currently running you may be "stuck" with for 24 hours, but that has never been an issue for me. The vast majority of the time I'm rolling a mage tamer or a disco tamer. I use peace/provo only very sparingly, and I plan around those times on the one account that doesn't have a lot of extra stones. FWIW.

In my opinion, choose a pet you want in your stables then just tame/kill a crap-load of those to find a keeper or two. That way you'll raise your skill(s), bank some gold, cut some hides, stable a keeper pet and avoid mind-numbing boredom. Finding keepers can consume a LOT of time. Why not do it while your skill training?

In my opinion, a Peace is a good addition but so is Disco. First you use Peace to tame a biting pet, then you use Disco on your pet and train his skills a lot faster. Later you Disco your pet's playmates so they can handle tougher stuff.

When you take a skill off a SS, you can't use the SS for 24hrs. However, you can load a SS with a skill and flush it all night long!
