Any tips on evaluating magic item value?

I recently resubbed my account, and of course took part in this monumental idoc event. I got alot of loot, plus I already had a lot of magic items from before I stopped playing.

How do I determine if any particular item is valuable or not? are there any guides? tools? web sites?

I am specifically referring to random generated magic items - weapons / armor / jewelery and I guess also player crafted magic items (runic kits)

I would advise making an Imbuer or making friends with one, and unravel all that are not actual artis.

Value is a very relative, to you who got the items in in a IDOC, you have zero gold invested in the item.

Some items, i.e. 100% elemental weapons and arti quality items like the Mempo, robe of fortune, and most of the magic robes have cocnsistently held their value. In the past 3 weeks farming Shame, I have got items I could never hope to duplicate or surpass via Imbuing or high runic tools. The new Pub may allow me to do so in the future via reforege tool, but anything that is likely to be found in an IDOC would most likely be far inferior.

Magic Residue, Enchanted Essenses and the raere Relic frags - along with colored ore from smelting have far more value than the item itself - IMO.

Some items with charges on them (clumisness, healing etc) may have collector value. Also a number of them have a good turn in value for like the bless deeds. You may want to test a few during the server reset or there was a thread some where on what things were worth as far as turn in points.

I think Invis and teleport charged items would be the most desireable for PVP
    also invis items.

or you could single click the trash barrel and target the item for an estimate...

throw it all in the trash for points. that's what I did. none of that old armor will be worth a dime when runic re-forging comes in

What about clicking on your character to bring up the item insurance menu and see what it asks for insurance. Won't give you an exact price but should give you a sense of the value relative to your other items.
