or are they from the turkeys themselves
like in their corpse
i believe you can get them from the turkey bodies and also from doing the nest(thats where i got mine
I could tell you but then I would have to kill you...
I've got one from a turkey and one from destroying a giant turkey egg.
Turkey and Turkey Egg here also. Also not all butchers take the birds for the reward. I was instructed to use the one close to Vesper Bank and that one worked for me.
I use the one near WBB
That's the one I used also.
My one nest bag and two nest eggs that I destroyed were all empty. Is that normal or did I do something wrong?
out of all i have done they all had gold in them so you should have found gold
Oh sorry, yes I think I got some gold. Was hoping for something besides that though.
feathers seems to be common
the farrow seems to be most rare
Gotcha, I'll try to fit in a few birds on saturday and see if I can't get something. I have a disco'er but no provoker so I am at least semi-useful. And I can always mindblast till my mana runs out then start up over again.
it plucks the feathers from its skin...
and then it starts to cook again...
do you solo them with your disco'er,and if so what are your tactics.I know it is better with a group but I have no friends to play with. actually I was in a big guild that all of sudden broke up overnight over a stupid little mis-understanding and I haven't had the heart to join another guild just to have my "heart" broken again .(LMAO sounds just like my relationshipds hehe)
I've only done one turkey, it was one I jumped in on when two others were shooting it full of arrows. It took forever with the three of us, though I was definitely the lame leg so no complaining there. There's no way I could solo one of these turkeys.
thanks for the reply sarsmi,
BTW there is no such thing as a "lame leg" when it comes to our characters.we all have our strengths and weakness' .for example I am sure the people you killed the turkey with really appreciated you discording the thing.I know I did really appreciated the support that my old guildmate Q had perfected the bard template, made doom a lot faster. in fact he probably was the best bard in UO ever.but he quit a few years but I still appreciate his contributions.
also my chars are all set up for solo play right now,but I am sure someone will appreciate that I can help kill the target faster with them even though I am unable to x-heal,whcih with soulstones I can switch back to my team player mode and x-heal Like a son-of-a-gun again.
After doing over 50 maps.... I got a few of the cornucopia's ... 4 nests.... and 50+ feathers... and ONE stuffing.
Never got one single item from destroying the eggs... and I destroyed quite a few...
Never got the farrow...
About all turkeyed out now...
Wanted a farrow... and wanted more plucked turkeys so I could turn one in to the butcher and get the cool knife.... but don't appear that that's gonna happen...
(And Yes I'm aware that the event goes until the 29th.... but next week I'm very busy and I have to go to help my father... so I'm not gonna be around for anything after tomorrow more than likely so I was kinda hoping I'd get stuff today while I had time.) Well... Hopefully everyone else got plenty of stuff... and I can buy one or something.
Pro tip: These do not have to be disco'd to be provoked. It just takes more tries. I solo them on a provo spellweaving mage. Try to keep them even, then Word of Death for the double win
Oh, and don't be a newb: Keep your distance and you won't get turkey jerked. Or whatever that is that does 40 to 60 damage to you if you get too close! I cast chain lightening, or ebolt if one is losing to the other. Stay as far away as your spell will fire.
Ive had good luck on my paladin archer with bushido. I can solo one in about 30-40 min without dieing most of the time.
Yah last night I realized that with their 12 barding difficulty I could provoke them even without provocation, since my disco tamer is a human. Yay!
I never understood why Buffalo Bill didn't just use a lotion hose..
The application would require too much effort.
I was expecting these to be very challenging from all that I read in these posts, but it wasn't too bad with my provoker (he has around 96 provoking and no discord). The trick is to find a spot (Moonglow seems to be great) that has many turkeys so you can get a nice big party going with at least 5 or 6, then provoke 1 turkey on all the others so it goes down quick, then another and so forth (versus having different turkeys in different battles). By the time the first one goes down (takes about 5-10 min) another will have spawned somewhere near by and you can just keep the chain going. And like has been often mentioned, stay far away. Preferrably so you can just and just see them on the side of the playing area.
The only bit of loot that really interests me is the plucked turkey for decorational purposes, but despite felling around 40 of these suckers so far, no such luck. I did get 1 nest and 1 stuffing, which were nice, but that the elusive plucked turkey refuses to turn up.
But darnit, I'll keep at it till it happens! The big question is: Can the plucked turkeys be used as decorations or do they have a timer if not used for this butcher quest?
They tweaked the birds a couple of times since the event started. Now they are very easy for bards due to what I'm guess was a typo (barding difficulty is 12 - that's right 12.0 - instead of the 160 they started out as). The hubby and I have been doing groups of 5 or 6 using the same tactic as you, plus discoing and casting spells on the targeted turkey. Have done probably 65 or 70 turkeys since the event started. Just got our second plucked turkey to turn in for a Harvest blade. The seem to be extremely rare. Both were on turkey corpses. They don't seem to have any timer on them that is apparent so I'd guess they can be kept as deco, but who knows.
Ohhh hold on now... you say on turkey corpses? So you mean one would need to click the corpse open to get one (versus having it fall into your backpack automatico). Because with this chain provocation thing going I've often left the turkeys unlooted as not to get myself killed and just let the maps and stuff appear in my backpack... Doh!
I think she meant both came from killing turkeys (as opposed to breaking eggs). I've killed quite a few turkeys and never had any of the holiday drops show up on the corpse. They always pop immediately into my pack. The same goes for the plucked bird from the nest. I got it after accidentally hatching a turkey and it popped into my pack.
Actually, the first one I found was on the corpse and I had to loot it. I'll have to check with the husband to see if his popped in his backpack or not since it's very possible they changed it. I know cornucopias have been popping straight to the backpack, but the first plucked turkey I got was on the first day the event went live and it was most definitely on the corpse.
Checked with the hubby. The second was also on the corpse and had to be looted. Did not drop in the backpack like the cornucopias and maps did.
Argh! Well thanks for checking and telling about this more. Guess it's back to ye olde drawing board for me then hehe!
Alrighty, I got my first plucked turkey and can confirm that indeed, the place to find it is on the corpse of the turkey. So for all of you out there who thought they were being such a smartie pants by skipping looting, think again!
What is the source of plucked chickens, I see them on some vendors selling for over 1 mil. Is this a rare-ish item? After a quick search of butcher shops and farm markets, I dont find them sellable.
I got mine from destroying a giant egg from a giant turkeys nest. I got one from about 40 nests, so I would say its kinda rare. But event lasts until 29. of november, so there will be more and more around until then.
Plucked chickens= plucked turkeys? Same turn-in reward?
On the first nest I got a harrow, but since then I only got those horns from time to time, the feather and the gold but nothing else.
Ok... that's just creepy...
Just as I've had feathers both spawn in my pack and be on the turkey corpse, it's probable that all the other turkey kill rewards have a chance to pop into your pack, or be on the corpse (And in a couple cases, I got a feather into my pack AND got one out of the corpse, on the same kill).
Plucked chickens are from the underworld puzzle room. Looks exactly like the plucked turkeys. But the Butcher only accepts the turkey (I tried ).
These devs don't miss a thing huh? Heh.
I finally got my first plucked turkey(after about 20 nests) after I destroyed an egg at one of the nests.it popped into my pack as soon as I destroyed the egg.
I have Killed approx 25 birds with my voker and so far it has yielded me 15 feathers , 1 plucker turkey, 1 cornacopia (all of these required lootign the corspe). Then when doing the 10 nests so far 6 cornacopia, 1 dressing, 10 feathers and additonal 3-4k gold per nest. I havent gotten anything from breaking of eggs and havent seen the elusive nest or harrow. But we still have 7 days left.
Ask fro RND generator to start rolling either 01 or 100 for us all .......
You guys are doin good... Im nearly to my 250 nest mark... after killing all of those turkeys and looting all of those nests and breaking every breakable egg, I have gotten a total of 4 of the plucked Turkeys, and all of those have been from looting corpses. So far I have not received a single thing from breaking eggs.
perhaps try some luck when u kill turkeys and when you dig up nest and when you break eggs.
I have about 25 nests with
1 - alive turkey hatched (turned out to be normal monster turkey)
1 - stuffing
2 - plucked turkey
20 or so cornacopia
this using around 1300 luck
Ya, I actually have 1830 luck without using the statue on my current suit. I use this for killing the turkeys, and for hunting the nests, and breaking the eggs. Still have not gotten anything from breaking eggs, ever.
I just got two plucked turkeys off the same nest... clicking eggs... RNG worked in my favor I guess...
