how about any two-handed weapons, not just bows, be able to be balanced? seems reasonable enough. that way, everyone has a chance to chug pots and two-handed weapons would actually be good

How about we get rid of the balanced property and quit making people have to rely on pots??
  6. ,
Lets make archers able to equip shields with 15HCI, 15DCI, 15 RPD and FC1
Technically with a balanced bow they should be able to?

I am certainly an advocate of Balancing all two handed weapons, If you dig through enough of my posts youll find my argument numerous times on the subject. But I believe there may be a good reason why they still have not balanced them. That reason being that one could easily enough switch from the two handed variety to a weapon that requires only the use of one hand to chug potions while still attacking his opponent. However this still puts samauri at a defensive disadvantage. If you where to balance two handed weapons I would expect folks to want shields "balanced" somehow so that one would not have to drop their shield to drink a potion as well.

I thought it was a very valid point. May I ask what is so ammusing about it?
A samuari's strength is in his defense and equiping a one handed weapon with Bushido greatly reduces their Defense

shields don't require two hands to equip though, so it couldn't be balanced.

If a Samurai uses a one handed weapon (which 99% of sammy pvpers do) they only suffer a very small penalty to their parry chance.

This means that they can chug pots and parry at the same time meaning that they are the only mele characters that can benefit from parry while chugging pots.

This gives them something of an advantage and I would say this is one of the major benefits of the template.

Your trying to suggest that this is somehow a disadvantage..I think thats why it made Arch chuckle...

Heres how your Parry works on a sammy
2 handed weapon, best chance to block
1 handed weapon and a shield, decent chance to block
1 handed weapon and no shield, whats the point of parry or dci

Samuari, or the bushido skill I should say, utilizes the use of two handed weapons to block effectively, Id assume your referring to the sammy that only utilizes the lightning strike ability with a fast one handed weapon and no parry.

And Somoka, the idea of "balancing" shields is because you would have to disarm either the weapon or the shield to chug a potion otherwise

Excuse me I stand corrected, you are correct, one handed blocking is only slightly less effective then blocking with a two handed weapon, wow, that changes things, where the hell was I when that was being explained, I used to smoke to much

i understood the idea of what you said.
my point being, if you have to disarm a two-handed weapon to chug, you lose time attacking until you're done chugging. if you disarm a shield, you still have a weapon to attack with. you simple lose your shield for a short period. seems simple to me.

If by "greatly" you mean 5%, then OK.

Samurai's are the strongest defensive template in the game. That's what is amusing my friend.

They can switch from 2handed to 1handed in a split second to chug. They aren't losing anything.

Thats not true, a samurais chance to block is greatly decreased if they use a shield.

I forget the numbers, but they're something like:

2 handed wep = 35% chance to block
1 handed wep = 30% chance to block
shield = 5% chance to block

So if your a samurai, DO NOT use a shield.

Such ideas have been suggested countless times before.. Don't expect anything. For what's worth it I agree things should be similar to what you're saying.
  18. I say go to the Imbusing Sticky Thread and get them to allow it to be imbused. We were told we would be able to add all properties that we can get. But if you don't bring it up in the right place then you can forget it being looked at. That is the place to ask for this change. I asked about Fey Slayer and Wolf Slayers last. I have yet to get a dev reply but still hoping.

I remember reading somewhere that SA might bring balance to most two-handed weapons.
