Cu Training ... Navrey

    I was told Navrey was the place to go, so I went.

    After a few deaths we got into a rhythm and was getting some nice gains, from 24 to 54.25% in about 15min. But all gains have stopped.

    This is the first pet I have tried to train so I dont know what the heck Im doing.

    Have/can gains on Navrey stopped ?

    yea gains can stop, usually after an average of 30-50 points I have found. I use the crazy mage in shame first then onto navrey which usually gives me a level. When gains stop you either have to kill the monster and get a new one to spawn or move to another creature.

    I gave up ...as you said they stopped altogether, and it was kinda hectic down there ... not a relaxing way to spend an hr ...

    How far into Shame do I need to go to find this mage .... Tram or Fel ?

    tram fourth floor after the gazer area, you go down and stick to the right you will see one red mage just before the unbound evs.

    I can sense a few deaths in my near future, is there a rez point near-by down there or will I have a long walk ?

    long walk, but in tram you can recall in and out. just recall fast lol =)

    You have to kill that navrey and gains will start on another. You usually get 25% per navrey. Unless your on LS then they have killed it before 25%.

    Good Lord ... I was working flat out healing with aids and spells just keeping the Cu alive and was lucky to have brought it down to 95%.

    Just remember with Navery you can use topple the pillars every so often to take a chunk of health away. That was our tactic when training there, by time gains had stopped it was nearly dead.

    Depending what server your on, there may be a public runebook to the shame mages. I know theres one in one of the oceania rune libraries.

    Failing that if you have access to a boat with cannons, i prefer pirates most for pet training. They dont do much damage, and you can just keep recalling in and out rotating through a stable of pets for training.

    Pirates are the go! Takes forever the first time to get all the necessary gear together tho.

    Once you upgrade the Cu's resist Navery will be much easier. If it is too much for ya now you can get good gains on Pirates (like General Lee is saying) or you can also hit the Ape encounter in Eodon.

    you can also train on swoop, or one of my favorites an allosaurus in eodon(just drag one into village). also how high your wrestling skill is and the number of current slots your pet takes up will affect the amount of gains you get.

    Wrestling just makes them gain faster. I have taken pets to five slot and they had 40 wrestling still. Each Mob has a max. For a 4 slot pet it is 25%.

    Sometimes Navery will give you 50% but it is rare.

    I dont know the max on a pirate. Also I never used a Dino.

    Yes I remember those days. 5 of us with our lame starter pets. Constantly spamming Heals and bandaging. We would all get our max gains and Navrey still at 90%.

    We would call out in gen chat for someone to come kill her. I didn't know LS had a few people that farmed Navrey on a regular basis before the pet revamp.

    Now we can kill her with a single pet.

    Pirates 1 slot to 2 slots are 150% If you pull the pet right at 100% hide invis whatever and train it to 2 slot you can get another 50%. 2 slot to 3 slot 100% if you pull the pet at 100% when it hits 3 slot you can put it back on for another 25% if you did the 150% on the first pirate. 3 slot to 4 slot 50% if you will actually go to 75% because of the previous 25% left over from the second pirate. Which will save you 1 pirate in the 4-5 slot training at 25% per pirate. If you have the ship, the heavy cannons, heavy charges, and fuse cords and the skill with using the ship to scuttle the pirate ship fast and without taking much damage to your boat pirates are the fastest and best way to train pets. If not then the crazy mage is your best bet and still reasonably fast. I have trained 20 pets on 8 pirates from 1 slot to 5 slot.

    Pirate Tips

    NEVER train a pet that will disarm the pirate. Once disarmed the pirate will kill every pet fast, the have like 5000 wrestling and 5000 parry and use lots of spec moves.

    Never let the pirates bow break see above :) same applies as disarming. You can beat them down to their underwear but don't break the bow.

    Learn to use your boat and not get damaged.

    Hiding is a real bonus
