Gamers are definately a group unto themselves. They are in a genre all their own and the comraderie in the gaming world is something only gamers can understand. WoW like other online games has its own social network so to speak and it seems to be reaching new horizons with things like in game dates and services designed to matchmake players together.

But what if you are looking for more? A companion, a girlfriend or boyfriend. Wouldn't it be wonderful to play a game you adore with someone special? You can, and there are sites set up just for you to meet your gaming gal or guy. Some, like Datecraft*deal soley with World of Warcraft. Plenty of Fish*and OKCupid*will match people by their inerests, like WoW, to help you find your gaming mate. Don't forget the multitude of forums out there as well.

With the added Voice over IP (VoIP) capability in game and with servers, the ability to "date" in game is also easier. I found an interesting article that delves into just that at physorg.com. To get a better idea you can read the whole article here.

None of this should be a surprise to any of us*as technology advances. However, it goes to show you that even in a parallel universe, such as WoW it isn't just about gaming anymore. There are new ways to adventure, socialize and capitalize on this growing community.
