Devs..A question about bringing pets to live event Fri/Sat?

Discussion in 'UHall' started by Sethblackmoore, Mar 28, 2008.

  1. I haven't done a live event on UO in 2 years or so. But the last one I went to ended up with my pets being destroyed even though they were bonded. So my question is....

Will there be bonded pet destroying monsters there?

And did anyone go to the magnicia invasion with pets? And did they survive? I really wanna try out that new greater dragon at the event. Thx in advance!!

Like in any event & any large scale happening. Anything can happen (and usually does). I did use my pets in Mag invasion & all was fine. But with the issue we had on Test with the bonded pets going Poof, I'm not bringing any of mine I value out at all til we're (I) am sure. Like anything in game, if it's lost there isn't a thing that EA or GM's will do to bring it back.

Of course this is assuming the new event will have something special to kill.

Draconi has been working on this event, and there's blackrock involved.

There will be plenty of things to kill and lots of flames, explosions, and general mayhem for all. [IMG]

It is always more versatile to bring a mage/hybrid mage or archer. [IMG]

The only concern I'd have right now is with the arch cure flagging, whether a casting pet fighting in town could get the owner guard whacked if it casts arch cure beside a mob.

Don't take a pet if you'd be really upset if they died, but I'm sure a fair few tamers will bring greater draggies with them anyway.

i got my Tamer ready and my archer ...getting my stealth mage ready next [IMG]

gave them all new repaired armor stocked banks with suppiles they may need and gave em each an insured pice of blackrock.
Got the blackrock bag at home ready to go if needed. and i logged them all at glow inn incase Moonglow get locked up since something about trapped was beeing said [IMG]
  9. I lost my best pet at the magincia invasion, but that was from a bug. My boat got blocked by fire and consequently destroyed. My pet was deleted because it was on the boat when it was destroyed.

That's the kind of bug that shouldn't make it past QA... Players shouldn't ever lose bonded pets.

Agreed. I don't like it when my loyal companions die...I don't even want to think of them going *poof*! I hated losing pets before bonding as I see them as more than just disposable meat shields.
