I dont enjoy spam and also make sure you can ignore as many people as you wish too please...
I second this. As a returning player after 2 years I love the new chat system. I think its a great idea, but I am not enjoying seeing "Selling inactive account 20mill" every 2 minutes every night tbh
I feel a bit betrayed by Mythic. The new chat could be a wonderful thing... Yet, it is the new play ground of spammers and griefers.
I agree. The spamming garbage has got to stop. I am sick of wasting my time sitting in the Q. WE MUST HAVE AN IGNORE FEATURE! I love yelling at the devs...it's refreshing.
There are plenty of games and lots of code out there to figure out how to make the chat system more updated and user friendly (and less annoying) I could see the current chat system being added to the game 12 years ago and we might have actually thought it was cool. Not these days.
I agree most of my characters have left chat because of the spam.
Nothing but /s and /p for trial accounts, and allow us to ignore players by name and ID.
I've been playing on Asuka a lot lately. It's one of the busier Japanese shards, perhaps comparable to Atlantic in terms of number of houses and shops, at least in Trammel. However, the "General" chat channel is very quiet, even during peak times for the Japanese players. I'm surprised if I ever see more than one or two sentences per day flit across the screen in that channel. I haven't spent much time in the other channels, but the few times I have switched, there's never any conversation going on in them.
It doesn`t seem like it`d be that hard. Maybe if we toss in some crispy cremes to sweeten the deal.
I don`t care,I`d almost pay to be able to silence the "I kilt jooo! HAHAHAHA! I`m gonna trash yer stuff! No yer not I`ll buy it back,sell it to me! Well you jacked me last time,So your screwed now!! Well PLEASE mister sell me back my faction gear! Me love you long time!..... NO n00b! OK FINE! All your guildies things will be trashed!! HAH! Take that!!....but wait,I`ll sell you your stuff back THIS time! but I better get mine back next time!" and blah,blah blah blah.....literally.
I get a laugh,than shake my head,than opt out of chat until I need something,a quesion answered or whatever. Kind of sux I hafta leave just because of a few loud mouths that like to relive their pre teen days,at least thats what it looks like when read. Very annoying.
Its like sittin in the same room with a drunk when your sober. Just makes a guy wanna pancake slap the hell outa someone just to get em to STFU.
Yup, only problem with Chat. Otherwise it's convenient when drama queens aren't Online.

Even a simple talking spam prevention like they have in normal conversation, wherein you can't type more than one sentence every 2 seconds would be nice.
Im gonna say this one more time i seriously believe that when they bring these new "ideas" to our servers none of this stuff is thought out or even tested...it seems we the servers are test servers not the test servers honestly...the game has spam guard in it but not the chat...truly brilliant and well thought out honestly...

- They have mentioned that they intend to put an ignore feature in the chat system.
As a reminder, they've also said that we can page gm's for any offensive stuff said on the chat.
Oh Lordy!!! I just came here to ask the same question. I get so sick of the smack and sexual chat it is makeing me sick already. And PLEASE no one suggtest to change channels... Chat channels were there for a purpose and I'm SURE it was not ment for crap talk.
