Dissect this template please

    I've been thinking about building a new toon given all that I've run into while doing spawns. One that can continue to do the spawns yet can defend themselves, track down, and/or harass invaders...

    here's the CHEAP version (not item dependant) to give you a basic idea of what I'm shooting for

    100 Magery
    100 EI
    100 Necro
    100 SS
    100 Hiding
    100 Stealth
    100 Ninja

    Most of the people I run into hit and run, hit and run. They only engage in open field fighting once they outnumber you.

    I'm thinking I'll be a human for JOAT tracking, stealth around to find them, reveal with EQ/explosion pot (etc), Strangle, Blood Oath on archers (MOST are archers), Sick revenant possibly to chase them, and nuke my ass off...

    If I got in a bad situation I have a number of tools at my disposal: invis and then stealth away, ss to heal through poisons/mortal and to track enemy spies/ghosts, etc...

    Depending on actual items available I could tweak trained skills down to make additional skill pts available. IE if I got Midnight bracer I could train necro to 85 only, add 20 for the bracers, and have 105 effective while saving 15 skill points to put elsewhere. I plan to do that on most of the skills, I just haven't had time to track down all which is needed so thats why I used the 7x 100 outline.

    I don't think i need resist yet because most I run into are archers, and being able to be stealthed is a big advantage to avoiding being in bad situations where the "always on" passive resist would be needed.

    * What do you guys think of the idea and how I might tweak it?


    * What is the % difference in spell damage between 100 EI and 120?
    * What is the % difference in Necro spell damage between 100 SS and 120?
    * Is 100 enough Magery? Spell dmg comes from EI, so why go higher?
    * I'm thinking of going 70 Ninja+items for llama form and to save pts. Is deathstrike worth making sacrafices to get still?

    I couldn't help you with the template because I'm not really guru. But I like what your trying to do 8) I have a toon similar to that. But hes my Fel miner. I kept ninja at 60 take it to 75 with a ring just for Llama. I love it when some reds come try to get me 8)

    Personally, I would want 120 magery and use a Mage weapon. Stealth is good at 80. Necro works well at 105, 100% on strangle. Ninjit at 90 is about as good as 100 in my opinion. For me it's either 90 or 120 depending on what your trying to do. For escape purposes 90 is fine. I know the 120 Mage scroll is expensive, but you are sure to get hit everytime a dexxer comes near you. It looks like you are going for a stealth Mage temp. Happy hunting.

    is 120 mage and a 1h -20 mage weap ok, or are you saying 120 mage and then use a 2h -0 mage weap?

    Alternately I suppose I could go to 140 Magery (+40 in items) and then have a -20 weapon (if possible?) If even possible it would really take a lot to do however.

    Are there any -0 Mage Bows? I don't like the idea of giving up the shield slot for no reason... at least a bow would be cool

    if you use a one handed -20 Mage weapon then you need +20 in magery on mods. They are great because you can chug potions. -20 magery spell channel, and 15 dci. Then a +15 ring with 25 enhance pots, dci, and whatever other mods u need. Also a +5 tali, it has 15 enhance pots on it too. 40 ep is really good. Happy hunting.

    If you are wearing medable armor, all you need to succeed 100% of the time is 100 hiding and 75 stealth. There is 25 skill points you can save.

    What about reveals though, sometimes I get real close when they're tracking me down. I'm getting revealed a lot lately with 100 hiding/stealth. I think it may have to do with elves passively revealing me. How far does the passive detection extend?

    Yeah, elves will reveal you at 120 also. It's lame. Within about 5 tiles I think.

    So basically if they can reveal you at 120 stealth anyway the idea is to use less pts...

    Lame cause i rarely reveal stealthers myself, lol I seem to be on the bad end of the stick.

  10. You have the ninja just shadow jump away. You don't get revealed that way. Ask any good thief.

    still learning the abilities!

    last night someone with tracking was consistantly able to find and pop me. nice to know one single 100 or 120 trained skill can defeat TWO 100 and 120 trained skills. ughhh. anyway i should have thought of shadowjump once i realized they were tracking me. even stealthed in llama trying to get away from them i was unable. got popped and killed 3x while camping an idoc by the local pvp zerg guild.

    at least every time i die i learn a new lesson of what to do or what not to do... thanks for the suggestions/hints.

    how much tracking do you need to be effective if i wanted to add it myself (im an elf also)

    Mirror image and shadowjump should throw them off your trail. Humans need only JOAT to track. I've never heard of a temp with more than 60 tracking. I think you are going in the wrong direction though. The templates using high tracking are generally only good in Zerg groups, not soloing or small group killing spawns. Your template is already pushing the brink of skills, try to refine your tactics. Go for assasin type kills first. IE a player drops health to a mob, you pop up with precast explo, then omen painspike. There are tons of cool combos you can use. I'm seriously considering making your temp. Happy hunting. Also try wraith stealthing, it owns.
