This has happened to me before. I'm showing some new/returned player on a young character around a dungeon or whatever and it's going fine. Then they accidentally manage to die. No big deal, right? They won't lose anything and I can just rez them right up. Me: Go into combat mode so I can see your ghost. Newb: I'm in some town. Me: Oh crap. Which town is it? Newb: I don't know. Oh I rezzed. Me: Great, recall back to New Haven. Newb: I just started, I don't have a rune. Me: Just use the moongate. Newb: Where's that? Me: Kind of outside of town, to the left. Newb: I can't find it. Me: Just sit still, I'll find you. Randomly teleporting newbies halfway around the world with no explanation or way of getting back was sort of a really terrible idea. I wonder how many trial players have died alone, then been teleported to the moon, only to run around lost for 15 minutes, then finally log out, never to return. Has this been fixed yet? If not, newbs should be forced to start in New Haven and should be sent to only the New Haven healer upon death. Sending them to Minoc or something means you may as well send them to Mars.
