[EM Event] The Tale

The old man sat on a fallen Log near the Yew Forest. The fresh aroma of spring filled the air. He could name the trees by their scent. Cedar, Cherry, Elderberry. He pointed them out as he spoke. Some were sweet ; some were pungent. He inhaled deeply, eyes glowing.
The young ones sat cross legged on the ground before him. Human . None spoke a word. They were all enthralled with the tale he was spinning. He held out his hand so they could see the little acorn. “All great things start small. “ he smiled. “Then little shoots grow . Shoots that form roots and shoots that branch out.It is the way of the great circle. “ He tapped the old log he sat upon. “One dies and another is born.” His voice was a rich baritone.
Just then he shivered. His unnatural bronze skin paled. Something was amiss. The land had just awaken from a harsh winters’ rest. Food had been scarce. More had died than was usual. The elders knew this was a bad omen. If one did not give birth to a new beginning it would be forever lost. Only one female remained to his type and she was very old and like the others very solitary Would Dana survive. She must be hiding. He hoped she was safe.
A squirrel eyed him warily. In his human form the squirrel did not truly fear him. Curiosity brought him right up to the man’s hand. He grabbed the acorn and ran. The Man gave a full bellied laugh. He knew the squirrels needed food to replenish their stash after this winter.
“I have an adventure for you!” His warm and charming smile made the group listen closely.
Find the Circle of Ancient stones far East of Yew and South of Justice. Study them. And follow the advice of the old sage.
