Faction idea changes.. Let's jot them down..

    I think there should be a BOOSTER pack for factions.. One where there would be an entirely new facet for factions only.. So in order to visit the facet, you would need to join one of the factions, the bases would also be located here and the bases would be full towns with NPC's etc, specifically for faction members..

    PVP should take place elsewhere rather than at faction bases like has been done in the past, PVE areas similar to that of champion spawns where ones can gain "faction rewards" through a whole new point system, and through specific monsters(kinda like champ spawns)

    Silver should be removed, instead of silver, one should be able to gather points through PVE(faction NPC's and monsters) and through PVP, just by dying, you would gain points.. These points would be used to go up in rank and to spend on faction artifacts and rewards.

    Similar to the museum and library rewards, there should be multiple faction currencies that one can distribute their points to. So different areas or towns would have different rewards.

    Adding a PVE element to the battlefield be the appeal to reviving factions.

    Sigals... Meh.. Remove them, nobody cares about controlling the towns anymore, I think this should fall under something else entirely, but still have to do with factions.. Faction "guilds" should be able to claim towns as their own and if another guild wanted the town they could challenge the controlling guild for it, controlling a town would have benefits like everything else.. So faction guilds themselves would control towns and not the entire faction (This would be the best idea.)

    Stat loss.. Just... Remove it, it was meant to stop people from getting back into a "battle" too quickly, at this point though, with how dead the system is, it is not needed.. Not by any means.. If there is stat loss in the game, make it so that one could get their stats back quicker, perhaps through just fighting some monsters for a couple minutes, allowing their stats and skills to come back up.. Really, I do not think stat loss is necessary with how dead factions are..

    Make factions city based, and allow them via referendum to align themselves with Chaos, Order or Neither.

    Fix the bugs that have been around for years! Remove the blue npc in Brit Castle, lol though I always get a good laugh when someone get whacked for healing a red :).

    Wipe out the points and go back to the old point system. Heck 43 millon points on my thief, that is crazy! If they won't change the point system, then make it reset back to zero after 1 millon points, instead of the 2 billon points, i believe it resets at.

    Do away with the rank system required to wear the Arties, let everyone that particpates in Factions have them after 3 days with in the faction. If you jump factions, you should have a 7 day waiting period to use the arties. I think that a character should be actively involved in factions to wear the arties.

    Sigils keep them, even though I keep hearing people dont care about the sigils, there are people that do. I do however, agree there needs to be more incentive to own the towns. We have had so many resources added to the game over the years, updating the faction vendors would be a start.

    Stat loss is a pain, but you should have some type of penalty for failing. You don't have to leave the fight in stat, with items you should be able to compete. I know many a factioneers that continue the battle while in stat, you just have to adjust to that 20 minutes. Also they opened up factions to more then 1 player per acct., you have that option of jumping on another character to partipate in the battle.

    Oh my favorite, Change the Commanding Lord title to Commanding Lady when a female character is the CL.

    They removed the one char per account restriction around the same time they introduced the arties. I do agre with many of the points that you made in that on many shards the points need to be reset and that npc's need to be removed from the TB base. I wouldn't mind if the closed the current entance to the TB base and moved it so that it wasn't in town.

    Change the number of factions to 2.

    Maybe call them Order and Chaos.

    Give them each one base and town rights if captured.

    Allow PVP on all facets.

    Thats about it.

    Had a horrible day at work so started having a few drinks. Beer with me here.

    Factions doesn't need a booster or major overall. It was a well thought out system and it used to work. Back in the day factions was the end all for pvp prowless as well as letting the average joe effectevly paticipate with no pvp skill at all. That was the buetifull part of the original faction system. It envoked teamwork and no matter how talented you where being in a faction a single devoted player could change everything for a 3 day period.

    Since the begining of factions there hasn't been **** for updates. The game grew and factions stayed the same. The idea of a "capture the flag" scenioro that actually effected everybody in the game back then made factions work. The only way we are going to get the dev team to take a look at factions again after the last disgarded attempt is if we can keep it simple and make factions viable.

    The complaint I've heard the most, "Nobody gives a **** about sigals, controlling a town is worthless" Ok, lets update the vendor system. Add more vendors: a vendor for imbueing ingrediants, a vendor for all types of reagents, another for all types of ore, and always leather. Make the priceing effectively controll the cost of players hunting and gathering there own vs buying from a faction. Keep it expensive not only in gold but silver, let factions controll the market of the game resources.

    Faction blacksmiths, tinkers, and tailors: When you make your armor and or weopons they are faction blessed for a couple of weeks. This way faction players can have blessed armor and weopons. (fel only by the way) Really... nobody cares about loosing insurance anymore they care about stat for twenty. Leave the mostly meaningless artifacts for the pvm players who rarely participate. It is a good incentive to be in factions.

    Order vs. Chaos. Integrate it more into factions. Tb and com vs. min and sl. Double the points doesn't work. Make it the stat timer. If you are order and you kill a chaos charicter it is 20 minutes stat. If you are chaos and kill a chaos shorten the timer to 10 minutes. Having a stat timer is damn important during defending or raidings bases.

    Also include faction guards and monster in order vs. chaos. If a faction takes over a city from a opposing faction then the faction guards don't automatically switch... Chaos is destruction and order is progression. make being a sheriff and a finance minister a duty that doesn't change if you loose city status, if you can afford it you can place monsters but you can only place vendors and guards if you own the sigs.

    No more scripting away silver on a tamer hiden away. each cities official has order vs chaos faction guards and monsters that sherrifs and ministers place to kill/protect vendors. Faction guards protect faction vendors and attack faction players. Faction monsters attack opposing faction vendors and guards, doesn't matter if they order vs chaos, just different factions. Faction monsters do not attack players unless attacked first because they are gonna be difficult to kill right... no easy silver anymore. The rescources are relativly expensive gold but cheap silver The voting system stays about the same.

    Factions need to have focal points. Bases and cities... no more scouting champs and all over hell only to resort to yew gate to sit and wait for a opposing faction.

    I agree stat lost should be lower, maybe if you have higher rank and donate enough sliver to get sliver point in Sliver book. Then your stat lost will be down to 3min to 5min sound fair enough hehe.

    Also agree that everyone should be allow to wear the faction artifact once they join without the need of rank.

    Rank and sliver point should allow player to buy stuff like faction potion, Or 3 day faction bless deed so you can bless your faction artifact. Why bless it as I think it will be nice if your faction artifact have a random percentage of dropping when you get kill. So people who kill you and see your artifact can take it and exchange for reward at their faction box. Example Killing a enemy faction person and looted his orny. Donate the Orny in the faction box and recieve a Bag of stuff(include special Faction Replica or some random imbuling resource.

    New Faction replica and Deco item should come out as loot in all the faction town. Which mean all the faction Town which is capture by the a faction will start a Faction spawn in the town. Example a CoM spawn which will see all kind of NPC CoM. Player after capture the town will have a chance to do the spawn and also fight off enemy faction from raiding( again more fun )
    The faction spawn will drop all sliver coin, imbuing relic, faction new deco item or replica af. Also Include a new Scroll call Faction Skill Scroll. The faction Skill Scroll raise a certain skill by 20 to 30. So this skill scroll can when a player use it his char skill will raise for a period of time(let say a month) So it player who want to fight and lazy to train skill would try and fight for this scroll.

    Faction point will allow you to have certain rank to do certain thing at your main base. Taking up a role to build up your base defend so that you can have a better defend avantage when trying to capture the silg. Faction point should increase in a sense that even if you deal some damage you should be able to get some point . Example Last hit will get 5 Faction point. Top Damage 4 Faction point and if you help to damage the enemy you will earn 2 Point when he is kill. Why is there a increase of point so there is no upkeep problem and people can build.

    Faction Vendor and horse breeder etc should all be move to faction base. Leave the town for capture and defend. Also for the faction Spawn.

    The base will have the faction Box for faction member to claim their reward after a successful capture. After a town is capture a Player will have 15min to restock before heading to the capture town to do faction spawn and defend at there. Once a Town is fully capture and faction spawn is kill. The town will belong to faction for a period of 8 hour before it can be play again.
    A group of people can sign up at the base stone that they will be capturing example Minoc, Then a message will be sent to all the faction member so they know a event is happening. the enemy faction will get a message like Faction A is ploting on a Capture. This will help gather everyone to rush to their base and see which town is enemy going to capture. The capture of a town should be two process. First to the town which you want to capture and corrupted the slig which take 5min so you have to hold the silg at town. then bring it back to your base and guard it for a 45min. once all this is done all faction member who help can go claim the reward at the faction box. The 15min restock timing will start. Then they would head to the town which they capture to do the faction Spawn. Which mean more pvp and fun hehe.

    This are some idea I feel if the dev team look into it. I am sure it will bring faction and pvp to another level of fun.
