Forum refresh now available

Discussion in 'UO Players Corner' started by T_Amon_from_work, May 20, 2008.

  1. Look in the control Panel ==> Edit Options. Scroll down to the thread display area and see if you have a refresh option. Click it, then save your CP settings.

This will NOT refresh any thread you are in but the forum-level stuff almost like the old forums did.

Now, if we could just convince the powers that be that "mark all forums as read" and "mark all posts in forum as read" buttons are necessary.

For the "mark all posts", one can go up one level and click the little green circle, but I don't care what they think,. it's the most counter-intuitive means I've ever seen to do it (not to mention I can't find any instruction except maybe in the help section that the functionality even exists) - and it still doesn't allow you to mark all the forums as read at once; you got to go through and click each circle independently - and I've had the circles go back to the bright-green "unread posts" after a refresh, despite there being no new posts since they were marked...

There's also a mark all posts as read in the forum tools, but that involves a couple additional steps than just a single button - plus most persons don't think that a "mark all as read" is a Tool, but a feature, and never look there.
  3. There's a good-sized list of "gotta have" and "want to have" and "wish we could have" items. I don't think the old forums grew to be what they were overnight ... neither will this.

For you folks reading? I myself have put in for some improvements in the "want to have" arena ... and they have yet to receive word how OUR (UO) forum recovery is going. Some of the others (Eve, etc) have been tackled, but what the processing sequence is I don't know.
  4. "want to have"

Old stratics back.. what happened to the back ups..? or are they building from scratch sheesh
