Legendary humility is the key to legendary patience
Legendary patience is the doorway to legendary ninjitsu.

    Introductory Notes

    Skills used:
    Meditation skill: 100
    Focus skill: 100
    Fencing 75

    Weapon used:

    Armor used:
Medable armor, 3 Mana Regeneration, 40% Lower Mana Cost

    Technique used:
Death Striking my horse while unguilded in Trammel

    Tool used:
UOAssist (100% legal UOPro tool cf. EA's approval of UOAssist)
I death striked my horse manually for 10 minutes, while I recorded it as a macro in UO assist. I then inserted a pause of 10000 between each death strike, so I had time to regain mana passively between each death strike. I then activated the macro manually every 10 minutes.

    Gain Log

    13. Session: 00 Hours 20 Minutes - From 119.5 to 119.6 - 0.1 gained

    14. Session: 01 Hours 01 Minutes - From 119.6 to 120.0 - 0.4 gained

    _Total time: 31 Hours 51 Minutes - From 110.0 to 120.0 - 10.0 gained

    Temporal Epilogue

1 death strike was approximately performed every 10 seconds.
Thus 6 death strikes were approximately performed every minute.
And 360 death strikes were approximately performed every hour.

360 death strikes per hour for 31 hours = 11160 death strikes
6 death strikes per minute for 51 minutes = 306 death strikes

_Total number of death strikes performed during 31 hours and 51 minutes amounts approximately to 11160 + 306 = 11466 death strikes

Might have gained a little faster if you have higher mana regen items. I like putting just enough necro and spirit speak on my char to get into lich form and have a shadow wisp to help with the mana regen. Just have enough HP regen to offset what you would loose due to lich form. Still it can be a pain to get to 120, never took the time to break the gains down tho

Still a good number to know I think and valuable data.

I'd say his number of deathstrikes is a good place to start. And to figure how long it would take each person individually can be determined by manually timing how long it takes to go from 0 mana to the minimum mana you need for DS (varies by LMC).

    Thank you :)

    On a side note:
Using my numbers, following Lynk's train of thought and assuming you have access to an unlimited mana pool, leads to the following calculation:

The Shortest Time Possible From 110.0 to 120.0 Ninjitsu!

    Mana pool: Unlimited

Swing Speed Cap = 1 swing every 1.25 seconds (cf. Publish 25, 2005)

1 death strike is performed every 1.25 seconds
Thus 48 death strikes are performed every minute
Thus 2880 death strikes are performed every hour

Total number of death strikes necessary to go from 110.0 to 120.0 = 11466 (Kraken's number)

The shortest time possible from 110.0 to 120.0 ninjitsu:

    11466 x 1.25 = 14332.5 seconds
    14332.5 seconds = 238.875 minutes
    238.875 minutes = 3.98125 hours

The shortest time possible from 110.0 to 120.0 ninjitsu appears to be approximately:

    3 Hours 58 Minutes 34 Seconds
  6. Just curious...

Has anyone tried training Ninjitsu in the Weald with a Satyr to see if it works and makes it easier?

I think most people spam DS to work Ninja and can't really spam DS on anything safely in the Weald.

Uhh.. shoulda used Ki Attack. I got to 120 with Ki Attack in much shorter time than your gains took.

Deathstrike gains are slow.. whew.. what a waste of time.

You gain from Ki Attack even if you initiate it and complete it standing right beside the person.. without moving.

Ki attack minimum skill is lower than DS, and it takes 5 less mana. I can't imagine it was THAT much quicker.

It is THAT much quicker. I'm talking QUICKER.

I'm talking like, if you did two hours gaining Ninja with Deathstrike and got .2, you would get 2.0 in the same time with Ki Attack. It's like that. And that's the way it is, *Snaps fingers*

Psuedo bringing this from the grave.

I'm working my char up to 120. He has 40lmc, 55 stam with a kama, ~200 mana, and 16ish mana regen along with 115 focus and 110 med.

I'm currently doing death strike on a horse trick and seem to be hitting every 1.25 seconds. I haven't run out of mana. But as some have noted, gains seem to be slow.

First, after getting to 90ish natural ninja, is it worth wearing jewels at all? There used to be the trick of capped out gaining better than non-capped.

Second, is it worth getting a new pet to hit every once in a while to ensure I hit everytime?

Third, I see the debate between ki and death strike. From the very short blurb, it sounds like some sort of trick is going on.

I'm hoping to get done with ninja so I can move onto parry and anatomy:coco:
  13. Why? Does it give negative karma? I was thinking about bringing a horse or something into the Weald and trying to gain that way.

yes connor it works.. at least did for bushido.. you go lead a satyr down to the portal.. then you walk through..

come back in and the satyr wont flag.. and as long as u stay on the same screen you wont unstat

    1. Hmm... well, once I was able to perform death strike without the help of ninjitsu skill jewelry, I removed it.

    2. Hmm... I myself used the same horse all the way to 120, so I do not really know if different pets will speed up your gains.
