Any other gm beggars on Oceania? I'm sure there were many more some time ago but I've yet to run into any this year.

I have one too. Just not doing much Treat or Trick yet.

I decided to try creating a beggar - after not being able to figure out how to "buy" the first points, I tried begging around heartwood a while - BOY it's slow! =o

Anyone that gets to GM must be either incredibly patient, or stubborn as a mule ;)

I've been collecting small webs from NPCs, I found one other person who has them and he got those trading spawn loot so I'm not sure who got them originally.

What, are you to tell me they overhauled begging? As in, made it something other than the Ultimate Good?

Bugger me, next on the slate will be Taste ID!
  6. Fink

    Fink Guest

Naw, not overhauled, just added a few trinkets. The skill's basically the same.

yeah.... really hard to gain in

Speak for yourself. I brickwalled on taste ID at about 48 or 49 at one point. I quite literally could not raise it without my guaranteed skill gain. I'm sure there was a bug in it, cause I'd sit there taste-ID'ing things for hours on end.

I think Taste ID's still capped at 75. You know, to stop people who don't cook from running about with GM Chef titles, because that would be madness. (or possibly Sparta).

PS: Anyone getting mini webs that face North? I got one and the rest since are pointing West. I'm looking to trade if anyone needs a swap.

What? Do you mean to suggest that being a GM chef actually has a purpose now, other than to signify who is truly the best amongst the players?

i hate the fact that my >100 tailoring overthrows my gm cooking title. anything 100 and over you should be able to select your title no matter if theres a skill higher

I've suggested that a number of times and the only answer I got was it could be exploited to downplay other skills.

wtf? if you dont have any fame karma or something it doesnt show at all.
So how can showing your prefered skill be a problem? stupid much.
  14. Fink

I know, an honest "we cbf" would be much preferable to that double-talk excuse.

It's ok I still remember a post on these very forums from a member of the dev team saying, back when I played in like 03 or 04, that corpses were absolutely positively not lootable in Trammel - not even as bones.

Go figure, the dev team didn't understand basic aspects of their own game. Story of UO's life. Getting ******** comments from the UO dev team has been just as much a part of UO as stones.mid

So when's your comeback tour start, Blad?
  17. Bladron

    Bladron Guest

When I'm old and bald and my finances run out. I'll reunite with LuT and tour again.

Realistically, though, when Mythic come to their senses and gut and revert this game to at the very least, pre-AoS. So, never :(

to be honest with you..when you know who sold this game..I think he put it in his contract that EA games could not keep his ideas and had to change them in a way.. Hence why we have tram and malas and Toko and ish etc etc...

Seriously how hard would it be for the devs to make a pre aos server or a pres publ 16 server? heck a 10 year old runs a pre aos server on his home computer that I know...why cant the devs do that?

I think its because when ea bought the game..they signed away the rights to do it...

The devs listen..look at EMs coming back..but if there hands are tied by legal means..then....we are **** out of luck....

Not so, EA owns the rights to everything Ultima and UO (including possible future games in the single player series) except for the name "Lord British."

Not hard at all, as you say. The main reasons they have given is that we already have a 'classic' shard (unfortunately SP is not a classic shard at all, more a weird hybrid), and that maintaining and developing another version of the game at the same time as the prodo shards would be to much extra work.

IMO they just need to fix (and I mean rip apart and rebuild) SP and make it t2a era so it is a real classic shard.

Not so, EA has owned the Ultima franchise (via ownership of Origin) since 1992, EA never bought UO, that have always owned it.
