He had to see Maya. Cursed woman. She had given him a letter. No! She hadn't 'given' the letter to him, she had it 'delivered' to him - by his own Queen!!! Coward! He no longer had to read The Letter. He had it memorized. But he pulled it out anyway looking at it once more to see if maybe, just maybe, he might be able see something he hadn't seen before. No luck. It was the same sugar covered words that continued to stab him in the heart like dull knifes. He flew to the castle. He had to see Maya.

The Castle Guards, Clarence and Donald had spotted Gorn several blocks away. Then again, spotting a large agitated Gargoyle flying toward the Castle full tilt was rather easy.

"Are you sure he's with the Ministry of Commerce and not the Ministry of War?" Clarence asked Donald.

"This day in age, they're pretty much the same," Donald replied.

Gorn growled. She didn't want him around. Didn't want to see him. Didn't want to speak to him. Why? Because she didn't want to hurt him. Gorn let out a few choice Garish swear words then realized he was hovering near the entrance of the castle and two of the Castle Guards had heard him.

Gorn landed and glared at the two guards daring them to say something. Clarence and Donald looked back at Gorn.

Clarence saw someone who didn't have any respect for law and order. Rules were rules. And Gorn had been told not to come here not by one queen, but by two! 'No, you can't come in so don't even bother asking," said Clarence.

Donald sighed. Having been on the receiving end of a broken heart once or twice himself, he saw the glint in Gorn's eyes and knew all Gorn wanted to do right now was to bash heads. Donald did not want his head bashed. It hurt. "Gorn, right now trouble with the Castle Guard is the last thing you need," Donald glanced warily at Clarence who seemed to be itching for a fight as much as Gorn. "Down the street is a tavern called the 'Cat's Lair Tavern', go there. Have some ale and keep the damage down to a minimum."

Gorn stopped glaring at Clarence and looked at Donald, then looked over Donald's shoulder and saw several other Castle Guards watching the encounter closely. Gorn hated to admit it, but Donald was right. With a final snarl at Clarence, Gorn turned and flew toward the Cat's Lair.
