One way or another details on upcoming games tend to find their way out of the grasp of videogames publishers and onto the internet ahead of the companies’ wishes. Accidental website postings by retailers, registered domains, or even the packaging for a series of action figures can let the cat out of the bag, which happens to be the case with Halo 4.
The back of the packaging on McFarlane Toys upcoming series of Halo 4 figures teases two unannounced enemies — the Crawler, a four-legged looking hound, and the Watcher, a robust looking beetle.
According to the packaging, the figures in McFarlane’s first series include Master Chief, Elite Zealot, Grunt Storm, and the Spartan Warrior, with a second series marked as Coming Soon, which includes Cortana, Spartan Soldier, Crawler, and Watcher.
The box also teases a secret enemy figure “unlike anything before” for Holiday 2012. Could this possibly be a Forerunner, the ancient civilization thought to have gone extinct? Time will tell.
