[Necromancy] If I understand correctly...

It seems we now have to concentrate more on a certain skill set rather than dabble in a few. With that it seems that my necro/mage/alchemist/poisoner needs an overhaul - along with most of my characters.

Since I am not especially well versed in template construction and these changes are still a bit confusing to me, I was wondering what other Necros are doing with their templates post pub. 71.

Also, do these changes effect only PVP?

You don't "have" to concentrate....you simply get benefits from it, I don't plan to change any of my templates, but then I have 2 pure templates to begin with so maybe I would if I had none. And the sdi changes only affect PvP, so if you are not PvPing it wont matter to you because your sdi cap is already infinite. Hope that helps a little, if you still want template ideas just ask. (or wait for the next post ;) )

Those parts that relate to a focus to raise the sdi cap are irrelevant for pvm players, as there is no cap in pvm. Those aspects can safely be ignored if you don't pvp

Necro mage tamer is a great pvm template. 6x120 necro mage is also very strong pvm/pvp. A general pvm/pvp toon I would think is still the mystic mage..

PvP is where the new sdi bonus's are important, pvm the cap has always been the max you can get on items.

Anyway the bottom line is play what you enjoy, someone could tell you a 1 hit kill every boss in the game template.. but if it's not fun why play it? SO my best suggestion is to play what you enjoy and do it up. The template isn't always what wins, it is more often then not the player behind the template that determines how it works.

I thank you all for your replies. I'm very happy to find out that I don't need to change any templates.

    Thanks again,
