Keyboard Macro repeat delay..

Discussion in 'UHall' started by DarkScripture, May 6, 2009.

  1. I have been having trouble with all macros that are activated on key press. This is sort of hard to explain. I shall give an example and see if anyone can help. I have a macro for Curse weapon "Q" & another for Primary Ability "S".
If I am in combat and need to curse my weapon and press Q and try to use my primary there is a delay that results in the S acting as if it had not been pressed at all. I can press S again and all goes like it should. The odd thing is if I place my cursor of the pull out on screen icons i can press the Q and click Primary with no delay.. No the Primary Ability is an example due to ANY key macro I use seems to ignore the 1st press if I do it too fast. Is this in game client delay or a keyboard setting? I have UO on more than one system and check the other.. same result. This is VERY bad when fighting and my heal method is from landing a blow. This can make me just STAND there doing nothing for 1.5 sec.. in a champ spawn 1.5 sec can be death.
  2. Another example would be casting a spell and getting hit. Fizzels the spell. If I hold the key the repeat is sooooo slow .. I can click the icon super fast and it will try to cast as soon as I can as it should. I even tired UOA and set my delays no fix for the delay that I am talking about. Also I notice that the client does see the key stroke due to it typing the pressed key in the text area but the macro never stats on the 1st press if I press it too fast.

When I first started using the KR client, I noticed something similar. The game didn't seem to consistently respond to certain keystroke combinations I used for various macros or to doing something like pressing Control-Shift to see things.

What I eventually realized was that if I had assigned a keystroke combination to a macro, I needed to make sure I was actually pressing the keys in the correct order, e.g., Control and then Shift, or at the exact same time to see things. I couldn't get sloppy and get away with actually pressing the Shift key just ever so slightly before pressing the Control key.

I don't know if this helps or not, especially as it sounds like you are using the 2d client.
