My gold sink idea.

    Always thought it would be cool if an online game (such as Ultima Online) held an in-game lotto for various real life prizes related to the game. Could be simple things like a UO t-shirt signed by the dev team. It's free advertising, free press, and a fun way to remove tons of in-game currency.

    I actually used to do this on a MUD I ran back in the 90's. Players absolutely loved it. I'd run what I called 'random events' and some lucky guy or gal would be out adventuring and find an item on a mob that entitled them to real-life loot. (like a pizza delivered to their door. lol!)
