New faction equippables IDEA

    make it so that the new artis use the normal stats of that item when used against non-factioners. in other words, make the new items forget their bonus vs non-faction chars.

    example, mace and shield glasses get an extra 10dmg%... player has 95 total +dmg% vs enemy factioners... 85 total +dmg% vs all players who are not faction.

    might kinda muck up things for people who build a suit around adjusted resists, and i'm not sure how that would work with the fcr3 crystal ring..... they could make fc/fcr and resist mods an exception, perhaps.

    p.s. I would also like to see (if they don't make the above adjustments) factioners restricted from entering anti-virtue dungeons and t2a, since remove-curse bandages, new potions, new arties etc grant faction-guilds too much of an advantage over non-faction-guilds, at a champ spawn.

    I've read many of these Faction posts, and just kinda laughed to myself..

    People bitched because up to now factions were pretty much worthless to be in, except the fact you could buy mass regs and ore and resell for a huge profit. And now they finally give factions updates and people are going nuts about how it needs to be changed ASAP.

    I think you just need to stop pancakes so much and join factions, theres no real downside if your entire guild is in the faction.. rolleyes:

    except that the new update doesn't involve the existing faction system... i'm all for improving the faction-vs-faction system, give factions incentives for owning towns, etc...... NOT faction-vs-nonfaction advantages in all areas, and doesn't even require stealing/guarding sigils, involvement in actual faction play, etc... that just forces everyone into factions so that they're not disadvantaged in all other areas of pvp.

    There are ways of making factions interesting and fun without overpowered items. We have issues that need balancing in PvP first - as you brought up the issue of tamers that's one for starters. We are never going to have anything approaching a fair playing field if we have a continuous stream of arties that need to be accounted for when working out fixes. Especially with what sounds like a 1-man balancing pass...

    Secondly, not every player who PvPs is the GM of their own guild. Many people PvP with characters whose guild won't join factions. PvP should be open to all and the equipment available to all so we don't open up more inequalities between players. EA need to think harder about rewarding factioners without making it yet harder for new entrants to get kitted up.

    Thirdly, some of us are crafters and once again items are created with none being craftable.

    Yep, I think this idea is inspired and it'll do great things for Felucca... /sarcasm

    I believe there should be seperate battle fields for factioners and non factioners. One unable to interfere with the other. Or make it to where non factioners aren't able to attack factioners.

    The bonuses aren't that big of a deal and are handy for stat loss. I'm hoping they keep up with it and change the items and mods around so that maybe one month your getting legs with AoF mods or something of that nature.

    With the items having their limitations anyone who would use them for anything other then faction battles is a fool.

    another idea is to make it to where the gear is unequipable in champ spawn areas

    You should always be able to attack everyone and anyone in Felucca. Anyone who thinks otherwise should play in Trammel or play one of the many other trammel like games available on the market.

    Until you get Statloss from EVERY KILL, and Non-Factions can loot your Faction Items and wear them, this should not be true. They cannot PoP the item anyway, they can't buy the Preservance Powder.

    So let me rephrase what you just said, unless you want to agree with what I just said;

    "I wanna whack newbies with OPed items and consumables and Omen Spams. Because I joined a Faction without EVER fighting other Factions in fear of Statloss. I farm Silver from NPC kills." :thumbup1:

    Why not save it until you can prove it's going to make such a dramatic affect on PvP as you claim it will be. All these threads seem to be nothing more than predictions of what they fear or are jealous of because they can't get new items. I'm not even in factions and will not be in but I don't think these items will affect diddily squat as only the person who receives the items can use it. Plus, most will most likely end up going back to their other overpowered items from runics. Nothing like dieing in a battle field, losing a rank and their ability to use their items on battle.

    yes from killing enemy faction or faction monsters but only in fel. And I'm not sure if you get silver from the daemons, wisp or silver serps from champ spawns.

    Exactly. They have done nothing at all to improve the gameplay of factions. Nothing. They have, however, added a bunch of things that can impact balance that will increase the number of people that join factions.

    I think the devs just mislead us by saying their goal was to improve factions, which clearly wasn't true. Shocking that the devs mislead us, I know. But its sad that they did so in such a blatant way.

    No one, at least no one that I have seen, is saying "Wow, factions sound fun now. I can't wait to join them so I can help capture towns and defend towns." Many people, however, are saying "Wow, I am joining factions so I can get those items! What's the fastest way to get rank? Where do I farm silver without having to worry about getting jumped by rival factions?"
