    Its to test if you got no corrupted files .

    Are you using the SA client? If so, it was a forced check and a small patch.

    Why is the check not a client side option??

    Yes, I got a small patch, on the enhanced client only.

    No, there were possibly some corrupt files on the server side or had become corrupted some how in the patch process.

    They did this to force a full file check to correct any of these mistaken / errant files.

    The question as to why isn't this a client side option is a good question.

    If you go to the Enhanced Client Discussion forum you will see the thread discussing this and why they chose to perform this action.
