inbound, see what you think
My initial reaction was 'Oh my' but I really like it after a moment of staring.. Would be nicer if the rest of the site was a similar colour of grey though.
Nice work Boss!
We're working on a color pallette now, won't be long..
Just wanted to see some original reaction before throwing more into it ;D
Well I certainly thing you should storm ahead, That header is really well done, Some nice detail in there.
Look'n good and look'n forward to more updates boss!
Much like SA in general, I give it a strong dislike.
Graphically, header looks very good.
Design wise, couple of points to bring up. It's big... width is fine, but the pixel height takes up a lot of real estate. Also the ad banner covers up the Online of Ultima Online, a small part of the UOS logo, and a fair amount of the garg (yup, I moved the browser around a bit & looked in both FF & IE to see how it renders).
I would suggest trimming down the header image & canvas sizes, and reposition the ad banner... to free up some real estate and not have the ad banner cover up the header (or at least not as much).
Great start... look forward to what may be in store.
What's an ad banner?
Love the UO Widescreen look, all of it!!
where can't this be seen? Am I missing something?
The Image that says "Stratics Ultima Online" no longer functions as a link back to the main uo.stratics.com
Just a heads up. Put those a href's back in
I like the background much more than the old ML style. The only thing that needs to be adjusted now are the forum colors to coincide.
I think it makes the stratics site look more up to date and 'cool'.
Kudos to whomever designed it.
I like it, but the brownish color of the topic list and the sidebar and stuff seems kinda out of place.
yes, now you have some mass css editing to do..
Can you use a color other than white to display the time the thread was last edited?
So far I like it a lot =) Can't wait to see what it looks like finished =)
I don't think it takes up too much space (pixel height) but I also have ad banners blocked in Opera so I don't have any of it blocked out by ads either =)
The more I use it, the more I like it. I think I'm . . . *gulp* . . . in like.
UO News page, Fallen Sword banner covers up part of the Stratics banner - wipes some of the Ultima Online lettering and anything in that general region.
If UO symbol is not to be part of the banner, I'd like to keep the ankh as part of it in the Forum area. Other than that, style is pretty good.
I like it!
In FireFox I have an ad partially covering it?
Yea..the old template had an advertisement in the same spot.
Time has, unfortunately, not allowed for changing templates yet. I would like something else in the future though
I like it better than the elf and the Gargoyle
You need to download the Adblocker addon! Its fantastic. *grins*
Aren't we supposed to show out advertisers some love?
Agree with Tina on this.... can we please change the time of the last post from white to something else? the white is unreadable currently.
I like it looks awesome!
I like it too. But one complaint:
The times, such as time of most recent post, time last visited, etc. All the times are too bright/white, almost not visible with the background. They need to be a different darker color like the words around them.
The times within the posts at the left above each post are fine. It's the times listed at the top right for the account and when browsing threads.
You last visited: Today at 08:27 AM
Finally, the elves are gone!
I'm going to hop on that bandwagon as well. The white is tough to read.
Also, what's this talk of ads? Am I supposed to be seeing ads? Because I'm not...
Hmm Mods get "paid" accounts so they do not have ads.
Unless that has been changed.
I'm pretty sure nobody pays for Stratics anymore? Wasn't Stratics Plus the only way to pay and remove adds? That's been gone for a while now.
I don't remember any from before I was a mod, but then again that was almost a year and half ago. I consider it a good day if I can remember what I had for breakfast.
My UOStratics staff account certainly isn't "paid." The reason I don't see advertisements is because I use an ad blocker. When my ad blocker is disconnected, I see ads just like everyone else.
Paid, paid, "Whacha Talkin About There Willis!
Looks good, last post color would be great
I like the new look of the bar in general.
But, since you are asking...
There is too much of a header bar in my opinion and think that it really could/should be consolidated.
I wasn't sure about the height at first, but then I realised the new height is in keeping with the other parts of the site, if you check the WoW, SWG, LoTR headings for example.
Hm, first thought that popped into my head after waking up this morning and looking at the style was "Undead."
Good to see you got the Post Time's color adjusted too.
I asked for something more dramatic and less bland. I got what I asked for, I like it. I'm happy.
Tall website headers are apparently the "trend" currently, or so my wife tells me (and she's always right). Looks much improved.
What has happened to UHall? Way too many people being positive all of a sudden! Was it just a color change that was needed all these years? What's next world peace?
Oh yeah, I like it too.
lmao. Maybe the blue is more soothing than the tan?
For some reason I am not seeing this new banner. Should I be?
www.uo.stratics.com doesn't work anymore. I have to remove the www in order to get in. Is this an oversight from the new change to the site?
Not new. No bookmark I have on my pc has www.uo.stratics, all are http://uo.stratics.com http://www.stratics.com/ however goes to Stratics Central.
Dark Scripture, it will depend what 'theme' you have selected. Most of us (I think?) were on 'uo widescreen' which has become 'uo Dark Stone'
If you type in www.uo.stratics.com, then it won't get you in. I know many will be thinking the site is down if they try to login that way. It has something to do with registering the site (in the DNS?) so that www and no www will both work.
A while ago, I had to tell my programmer to register our work site so that www will work and also make it so no www is required.
As far as I know, Theres not a way to make www.uo.stratics.com work. Atleast I've never seen a site that uses such a thing.
http://news.bbc.co.uk works, But http://www.news.bbc.co.uk doesn't.
