do we need more testing?
Lets get on with it!
Better question is, when do we ever NOT need more testing?
If you're in such a hurry to get rid of stuff, there are trash barrels and trash cans everywhere.
Dude....i just want the content to go live....
last time i checked, the current trash barrels dont give turn in points....so save your misguided logic for another post
It made me laugh the other day when i actualy thought about it.
UO must be the only game i know of where im looking forward to chucking all my belongings in the trash.
I think Pub72 has been on test for 2 weeks?
I hope we get it live this week.
Well it's the weekend at the moment. Maybe Monday we will hear something. I'm sure the recent departure of Cal is the reason it hasn't gone live so quickly.
There's something about turning in Object A for Object B... the Clean Up events, Treasures of Tokuno, fishing quests, community collections... whatever it may be.
Even the non-standard loot in various earlier events such as the Ophidian invasion and the rat coins were hoarded because we thought they were going to have a purpose.
It's not even by the least limited to UO, however there DOES seem to be more of an interest when the items have a use in themselves AND can be used as a turn in of some sort.
I've been filling out my sorted and stashed BODs (mainly the smalls that give hammers) just to dump the hammers for points and I have over 50 SOSs ready to be fished up.
We tend to like loot that has a purpose, and that's one area, especially in an open world game like UO, that needs to have a constant focus so that stale items can be cycled out for new.
Personally, I plan on using the event to clean out as much storage space as possible and then refocus what I keep stored in my houses... not sure exactly to what end, but I'll think of something.
hence the idea of "spring" clean up, where everything starts anew, but we are beyond that now
Have you tested the publish? I have and it just made me more anxious to see it hit the rest of the shards! though i wish they would add aquarium deco to the turnin list.
I just want the damn vet rewards turned back on. I mean really?? That long to fix an issue with them?!?!?! :loser:
There are people who have put in time to go on test to test the new pub.
People, like myself, have generated item lists for items with no value yet on test.
I would rather wait another week if it meant dev's adding more item values to those in that list and adding a few more items to the rewards we can recieve.
A good idea was mentioned earlier this week on opening up the library, museum & zoo rewards to us to exchange for points from cleanup. That would be great.
I think there is plenty on the list of turn in's for almost everyone to have something to turn in and get something. I am really tired of waiting myself. I do not agree with the bod's those you can get all day long or have 20 vendors at your house loaded with bod's. The list looks good as it is now would like to see it go live soon
I wonder how many people will hold off after it goes live before they dump their "trash" to make sure there are no issues when it goes live.
Players A : tests a low point item to make sure it works. See it does then just starts dumping then sees large point items not adding up. Player A runs to stratics complaining and lost big point items that wont be replaced. Then no word from the devs besides uoherald making an announcement that there is an issue.
Players B : just starts throwing items in and it works fine for them.
Players C : Scared to death to try it until all the "Players A" issues are taken care of.
Players D : the patch broke their game and cant enter UO. They cant patch at all and find out the turn is for one day ( the devs didnt announce how long it was going to be. They just let players assume how long it was going to be) only and missed out. Goodbye "UO" and hello "Hello Kitty Island Adventure Online"
Probably very few. Not many people are overly paranoid and it has been fine on test.
No, but we do need to have those new suits exceptionnal and 255/255 before it goes live .
the last go around they had 255 durability and it was prior to imbuing, i dont want no carrots unless there ripe
Yeah, I think if I have to wait much longer for publish 72 to go live, I'm gonna puke my pants...
I think the idea is so that the suits from the prior one are worth more.
There's one thing you're all forgetting. UO has no producer right now. The publish isn't going to hit until the chain o' command is stabilized.
This should not be an issue, it's not our fault UO has no producer. Don't forget we pay more per month for UO then just about any MMO on today. The Lack of getting things done in a timely manner is way old news & I honestly hope this is not another example of how **** poor the devs are about it.
I mean spring cleaning at the start of fall... I turned my accounts back on and really don't expect to wait another month or two.
i thnk messana is quite capable of handling things for the time being.
I posted this to the Halloween Quest Thread
Publish to Origin today | Mythic Entertainment | Ultima Online
On August 8, 2011 at 2 PM, the following changes were made to Publish 71.1 on the Origin shard:
Runes for decayed or otherwise destroyed ships will now reset when they are attempted to be used.
Players will now receive keys for legacy ships instead of runes
Dry-docked ships should now leave the world correctly.
The harbormaster now only gives a rune for the ship owned by the character instead of for all ships owned by that account.
Ships should now hue correctly based on type
No notice that this has gone to other shards yet.

Publish 72 Comes to Test Center
Kai Schober 1 Sep 2011 15:53:35 EST
Publish 72 comes to Test Center today, along with the Enhance Client Patch 4.0.17 and the Classic Client Patch 7.0.17.
This hasn't even gone to Origin yet.
We are still dealing with this Account Migration cluster #$%^!
Cal got let go.
IMHO I don't think this is going to happen any time soon.
Sorry to say but this is still IMHO the same as the Halloween Quest Thread
Dont think they should bother with origin to be fair...only 27 people play that shard.....pretty pointless excercise...
I meant the new suits , not the replicas. I dont want pre imbued suits, i want em like the virtuous armor pieces. at 125/125 already imbued , the beserker suit, my personnal favorite will poof in no time. I want the choice of either imbuing them or working around it with other pieces as is.
ad nauseam with imbuing...
I really fail to see why Cal being let go or maybe he decided to take another job somewhere else has anything to do with this. And I don't think the same people that are working on the account migration are also the same people working on new publish content in UO? If it is that would explain some of problems in game. I really just wish it would go live soon.
Maybe he password protected all the content and files as either a goodbye practical joke OR a KMA moment
Reason you dont have Vet rewards is the system is linked to account age and the billing keeps that record file. Hence no Vet system up.
Cal leaving had not a thing to do with the billng migration and Mythic.
The Billing migration was done by EA not Mythic and the staff there had no conection to it. We were just the next in line to get it in the 30 some online games EA runs.
As for this "clean up" ... The reason for test center is to work out all the bugs and add in or take out items that dont work or need to be added. There was a thread asking for additions to the list on another Developer forum.
The reason it goes live to Origin first is there is a big difference from test center to live production shards... I am sure you dont wish to toss in that 12,000 point item and have it go poof and not get your points..... or worse off drop in a bag of items and have all the points not show up.
Patience grasshopper good things come to those who wait...
I for one have accepted the mindset of getting a 70-80% return on the items I have set aside. That way when something goes into the trash and I am allotted zippo I am not as upset as I should be
but seriously, the higher end point items should be appraised prior to dumping into the trash can folks...
Either way I am excited about the clean up simply because I have too much crap around my house. I don't use it anyway so to actually get more stuff (maybe I'll use this stuff) is a good thing IMO.
I am in the process of moving everything over to one of my Castles and it is filling up fast. LOL Way to much stuff after 13 yrs.
Art though stupid . Cant you read ?
