I have two. First, people who don't respond to e-mails. Communication is important, especially when I'm trying to wrangle a staff of 80 part-timers and volunteers spread across 15 websites. I have two full-time jobs and receive over 500 e-mails a day. I rarely miss responding to them. Second, and more pointedly, eating/drinking noises. I have twice average hearing; I hear everything. This may qualify for more than a pet peeve, because it impacts my daily behavior. Specifically, unless there's mood music or enough clamor to drown out the noise, I do not eat around other people. I will not do it. My day job, people crunch their food and slurp their drinks around me for nine straight hours every day. I wear ear plugs the entire time, and if I can hear them through my ear plugs, I will leave my job and use my precious annual leave to get away from them. I cannot do it. How about you?
