What exactly does 15% velocity increase do?
it says my arrow hits its mark with great velocity or something.. is there any benefit to this at all?

I don't know the math, but an arrow that is travelling faster hits harder, so a damage bonus.

Aye. Which is why you see people on test in ganks squads running Yumi's with 100+ DI and 50 lightning/velocity. You can whack someone with 70 phys for around 60 damage with an AI.

Velocity works the opposite way a mages harm spell does, the farther away you are from your target the more damage velocity will do. The percentage is just like anyother weapon percentage, it determines the chances of a sucessfull velocity hit.

Also note velocity can stack on a weapon with other hit spell mods such as lightning, fireball, etc...

No other weapon can do two separate damaging effects on top of the actual weapon's swing.

*edit* except I think, certain craftables...
