Runneth Over...

  1. Deep red, the horned leather strap that held her dark brown ponytail had come loose and was hanging half on with the ends trailing over her shoulders. Sweat dripped from her forehead dampening the crème colored doublet and apron. She'd been at this for most of the day, aggravation making giving in all but an impossibility. Where once the dull ache had irritated her earlier, it now burned brightly radiating down her extended left arm into the outstretched hand.

Time after time she uttered the words and time after time she watched her form shift and change beneath the death laden energy. Crackling and popping swirls of blue would periodically exact themselves withering the plants around her. As it was in the dungeon shame each draw of energy left her wanting only more. And every time it didn't happen the hunger gnawed from within as though the door had not been shut tight enough to contain the beast properly. The itch resounded in her veins. And this eve she would answer it...

Snapping her hand to an erect attention she uttered the words once more before the night went black, exploding with rubble around her.
