Ship key question

  1. Ok... I have a question, and I thought I'd try to ask the people of Catskills about it first, as they seem to be some smart people.

    I have a GM tinkerer. I have an "old school" boat. I make copies of the boat key for all of my alts. The key does unlock the side of the boat. But I cannot recall from the copies, only the original. Why?

    I'm like... 90% certain this method used to work in the past. Any anyone have any clues?

    I noticed that too. I'm pretty sure that this changed when they updated the ships with the High Seas booster. Not sure whether it was intended. I don't care much either, 2 keys to recall from seem to be enough.
