Should I come back?

I played Siege from the beginning for many, many years, got distracted by other games, but still have never found one that had a good player run economy, pvp, plus consequences for dying during pvp (player looting).

I think Siege is still the only place that provides all this....but I haven't even looked at UO since the power scrolls started dropping.

I guess, my questions are, is it stil fun? Are there still people playing? Is the new client worth it, or does everyone still play with the old one? Is there any reminant of the old SP that I remember?

Heh, I always used the long spears.

It's a lot the same, it's a lot different. There are still remnants of the old, some old players, some old guilds. There's a lot more new. Most pvpers still use the old client.

    What you will find:

There's far fewer players today than pre-aos. Still enough to do what you want, pvp or pvm - but you now have to look for it whereas before pvp just happened everywhere.

There is still good pvp, consequences for dying, and an element to the player run economy.

With new skills and item property based combat, the tactics and methods of combat have changed immensely.

Good luck if you do decide to return.

id say if you enjoyed it yes . it will be a challenge but worth it.
its going to be work getting your guys up to speed . the old gms now are insufficient . its like things got harder as the max went up . gm mage will fizzle gates so much it'll drive ya nuts.
powerscrolls will be not so hard to find tho . you'll have to deal with "rate over time " gains to max em out again , but they boosted the gains from old ROT so its not so bad . see the "mythbusting siege" sticky and scroll down for the new ROT data.

i too played siege in the early days and went to play lake austin when it first came out . was gonna be one of the first ones in and run the place etc.
(yeah i was a full blaze wearin trammie)

i had my fill of that after a while tho (no risk , so no thrill in victory) and came back to siege a couple years ago . all my guys were gms in hoplessly outdated suits. (were top o the line 7 years ago i swear)

it took a lot of work to get it all updated but i wouldnt go back to trammel for the world . this is the last remnant of what UO used to be .

long live richard garrot . the true king

you can find poeple willing to help here . you will find the usuall assortment of jerks as well , but it wouldnt be fun without a challenge right ?

id hook up with NEW guild to get up to speed on the new skills and social structure . pluss im sure folks will answer questions here .

you are welcome to private message me . ill be happy to help if you have any questions or need some basic supplies.

It's still very fun...the population is lower but it beats the hell out of a high populated game with no freedom in it...i haven't even tried the new client and don't plan on using it...the old SP is long gone but the memories remain forever...

But to answer your question...yes you should come back...
  5. Siege is nothing like you remember but as long as you get in with a group of players you like, you'll have some fun. If you played from day 1 (so did I) maybe I'll know you *winks* My name was Tamara at the beginning and she always had a hally, can you remember what your old name was?

There's more to learn now than there used to be when it was all basic, now it's jewels for this, armour for that, and weapons etc. for the other, but you'll get the hang of it all I'm sure.

I played from day one and took a break in 04, came back in 08. I don't recognize your name. I was in CWS, UND, UDL, KGB, SUF in that order.
