I am looking for a good starter template that would not cost much to gear up and would still be able to solo quite well,i would prefer an archer template but i am ready to try something else also.

I don't know what starter means actually. I started as a lumberjack and had magery, hiding, camping, archery, bowcraft, and probably a bunch of skills. Over the years you root out the old and in with the new. My suggestion is to create your story of your character as well as how you want your character to look and then decide on your skills. Your skills should enhance the story of your character.

Lorax was a lumberjack because I thought it would have a sense of irony and then over the years became the protector of forest travelors fighting and helping prevent the murder of innocent victims. Now-a-days Lorax wanders alone in somewhat of a lost world traveling a new world from the loss of his companion.
