Currently there is an issue that prevents some players with the Enhanced Client to log in. We are aware of this issue and will fix it as soon as possible.

Please keep an eye on the Herald for updates.

Classic Client, Windows XP SP3, and for the first time ever get a 'can't patch' error - but the usual tricks don't fix it, and the error log says there's no error!

    Launching the client -

    Starting patch session...
    Transferring patch information
    Downloading patch uosa_win32_7-0-17-0.rtp( 62809048 bytes )
    Downloading patch uosa_win32_7-0-17-0.pat( 13 bytes )
    Applying patch patch\uosa_win32_7-0-17-0.rtp
    Error applying patch
    Error during session
Your client may not be the most recent version.
You may be able to play the game with your current client.
Check Mythic Entertainment | Ultima Online | Play the 14-Day Free Trial! for help on resolving patching issues.
Click OK to play the game or Cancel to abort.

    Patch log :

    No errors...

    File Patches Applied ......................... ( 22)
    Files Modified .................. ( 22)
    Files Renamed. .................. ( 0)
    Files Added ..................... ( 0)
    Files Deleted ................... ( 0)
    Temporary Files Processed........ ( 0)
File Patches Skipped: New Files Up-To-Date.... ( 0)
File Patches Ignored: Old Files Missing....... ( 0)
    Old Files Invalid....... ( 0)
    Total File Patches Processed ................. ( 22)

Emptied the patch folder, tried again, just downloads the patch, chucks out the error message, greys out the 'Play' option... but the log clearly says no error!

Can still get in to the game by launching uo.exe directly, but why is telling me there is error in the client launcher, and no error in the log?

Edit : OK, I'm now baffled. Fired up the client without thinking when I came back to the PC a few hours after the initial 'failures', the PC had not been rebooted or any of the internet kit restarted - and it applied the patch it had already downloaded just fine and it worked. Why it failed earlier, I have absolutely no idea.... unless launching the client directly through uo.exe triggered something that meant it patched 'properly' next time?
