UO's fixed perspective (its graphic appearance)

I realized I strayed off-topic in another thread.
So I figured I would just make a reply with a new post.

This was quoted and I was asked:
    - Well, if that was a fixed perspective and only a fixed point of view, then I would not have any problems with it. :)

I think that having a fixed and equal field of vision for every player is of great benefit to online gaming; most especially when competitive things such as PvP are a part of the game.
Some games can be great in full 3D with a fully controllable point of view.
But I do feel that UO's point of view is just how it should be due to the nature of the game.
But that's just how I feel about it. ;)

So are you saying you want the perspective fixed for everyone or fixed as an option? As long as its an option I'd be happy. I'm not trying to make those that like 1st person views have to live with the 3rd person view that I like.

I can understand the fixed perspective thing. I like to have the option of different perspectives the problem is that in pvp if someone can see me 3 screens away but I can only see what is on a single screen surrounding me on my monitor the other person has an advantage of sorts.

However I do not think that changing the perspective adds that much of an advantage in UO.

The only advantage it can give is an advantage to escape by losing people you can see 5 screens behind you if your off screen to them or the advantage to track another player for a long distance if things are the other way around.

You still have to close the gap and be able to kill the person though and perspective does not change your abilities in that department.
