I've had this hard drive kicking around for a while, but never did manage to access it.

Anyway, now I have, so here are a few pictures...

This was taken during some nutcase invasion of bandits and lesser creatures which hit various places including Jhelom. I think the mounted chaps in the green cloaks represented the Skara Brae Rangers (SBR), thoroughly good bunch of people.

    Alchemy den with dye!.jpg

I suppose I liked how this tower was decorated, go figure.

    Aquarium with pigs head!.jpg

The ground floor of the same tower, but watch out, this floor has a pig's head. I remember finding this pretty damn fantastic.

More of the bandit invasion, this time at Magicina (?) docks. Good old Cepeleon there manning the rudder, proud member of the CLOWN guild, another fine bunch of people.

Yeah ! You 'ruddy daemon bone wearing ARSE ! Yeah !

Riches for the waffles. I don't think this is one of my characters, but rather a picture sent by a friend to show off how many hot hot loots he/she possessed.

Another picture from a friend, this time underlining how Britannia's other Valentines were faring.

    Cool UK Product.jpg

Black doublet, nightmare cloth pants, black sandals. Lets go !

(This was my main character prior to creating Kas Valentine to better integrate with the roleplaying community. I also had to Stop Typing Everything Like This Because People Found It Incredibly Annoying).

A depiction of my character as imagined by the UO artist Gladstone. You basically sent him a picture of your paperdoll (the picture you see above this one) and a short description. I think I e-mailed saying I liked to help people as best as I could, and this is what he sent back. The red hair was later added by Orangebeard, so cheers you Scottish legend you.

    Deamon Max.jpg

Awwww yeeeeahhhhhh, got my own daemon bone now !

S'Orangebeard standing beside Max, looking very fresh, we always did love our nightmare cloth. If memory recalls it was his daemon bone too, heh.

    Europa Kas Decoration II.jpg

My small holding on the island of Eden (the big island east of Marble Island outside Britain), a small player run town I participated in with some friends.

    Europa Kas Decoration III.jpg

My log cabin in Trammel (Yew moongate is literally half a screen to the northwest).

    Europa Kas Decoration IIII.jpg

Upstairs in the log cabin. I later sold the house for 2.2 million, contents included, because I couldn't be bothered moving all my possessions. I believe this character also owned the guild abbreviation [Yew] at one point, I sold that too. For 200,000gp if I remember rightly, to a neighbour a couple of houses to the north.

    Speaking of Yew....

To the best of my knowledge, Max Freshwater is the only character I ever had in the Guardsmen Militia (you guessed it, a great bunch of people). Cool UK had never been granted admission under the rule of Llemandrell, so I had a great time acting as a makeshift bartender, albeit briefly.

Hrm, I can't seem to enter any more text, so I'll add the rest of the pictures in a reply to this message.

S'right, I owned exactly the same spot in Felucca as I did in Trammel. The one on the left was a shop where I sold various stolen goods, and the one on the right was my private residence. Initially I only owned the shop, and later bought the house adjacent to it from my murdering neighbour Killah God II. I remember being pretty psyched when I was redecorating shortly after the sale and destroyed an abattoir that Killah God II had placed on the floor. Somehow 15,000gp had survived underneath it, jack-a-nack-a-nory !

This was some time before Yew moongate became the PvP hotspot it was famous for being (or the vendor hotspot if you're in Trammel). As I mentioned I sold the log cabin, and I eventually sold both of the small houses to Valfreyja of the Ancient Oak (a player run town famous for PvP tournaments in the clearing southeast of this picture). I loved the spot I was in, not to mention the fact I had to buildings next door to one another. However, Valfreyja knew my weakness, I'd always wanted a two storey L-shape and she offered one as a trade thus I moved away from Yew moongate on both facets. Now that I think about it the Ancient Oak probably had a large role to play in making Yew moongate what it went on to become.

S'no love lost, but damn, I could have made a killing if I'd kept a tight hold on all three buildings.

    Final Stand.jpg

More from the nutcase bandit invasion, the waves of giant rats were a precursor to the bandit waves.

Bear hat, Verite chainmail, GM Fishing and a crossbow. My gold farming character in his prime.

    Fishy II.jpg

A log cabin I guess I liked the look of, go figure.

Downstairs in the log cabin I guess I liked the look of, figure go.

My marvellous rendition of Factions in full swing. Judging by the fact the mounted chap is carrying a glacial staff I'd say that's supposed to be Eldan. Can't remember his guild, but my thief friends and I used to steal his glacials regularly. I know I got three, while Scratchy and my brother snagged others. He'd always mock us though, despite our successes, which is why he lost even more.

    Glorious Max.jpg

I'm sure many people can relate to this screenshot. I farmed those daemons for 'ruddy ages. I think getting Max to reach Lord took even longer, God bless him.

Good old Sagonari, a long time contributor to these forums back in the day. A thoroughly bloody nice bloke.

    Halloween GM.jpg

A visit from a GM in my little shop that I'd decorated for Halloween. Can't remember what he was fixing, but who cares, he arrived as a skeleton wielding a scimitar.

    Halloween Winner!.jpg

If I remember correctly this was the original Angry Mongbat Tavern. It was a fancy dress contest and I went as Satan, and won ! Woop !

    Halloween Pirze!.jpg

My delicious winnings from the Halloween costume contest.

In The Beginning When We Were Winning.jpg

Not sure what this gathering was in aid of, but we were heroes one and all.

    rooftop house!.jpg

This is the same tower from before, only on the roof, and with a house on the roof ! OMG !

    Inside rooftop house!.jpg

Inside the house on the roof.

    Kas Desktop.jpg

My desktop from the period. Interstate '76 man, what an absolutely awesome game.

    Kas Study.jpg

My setup at the time, pretty low budget compared to today ! But boy, it sure saw some use.

Rilla Takhista during one of her many liasons with Spiritwood. I believe that's Fenris behind the bar, reliable as ever. Sadly I don't recognise anyone else, except perhaps the chap in the south west corner of the building, that might be Elv'eng but I don't think so.

I'll stick the next raft of pictures in another reply.

    Trin brigands 2.jpg

The bandit invasion hits Trinsic, dirty little rotters.

    Trin brigands.jpg

So yeah, I guess the guardzone had been turned off.

    Trin Brigands1.jpg

More bandits die in the quest to get hot loots.

    Trinsic Brigands 3.jpg

Some even died on the docks, well hot damn.

    Ultimate Wierd Shard.jpg

This screenshot (and a vast majority of those to follow) come from something EA created either just before or just after Trammel arrived. It was the 'House Test Server' and literally every house on the shard collapsed, so I sure hope they got the results they were after. But frankly who cares, because I got to run around enjoying the Britannian equivalent of a supermarket sweep.

Just take a look at this guys junk !

Phoenix armour (!), ranger armour by the bucketload, 'no draw' tiles, champagne flutes, SNOW.

COR BLIMEY (it was the year 2000, pixel crack wasn't as varied as it is now).

    Ultra wierd shard 1.jpg

This image speaks for itself to be honest. I've looted Phoenix armour, I've looted special hair dyes and now I've got a katana of Vanquishing. In a nutshell, I feel like I'm the tits.

    ultra wierd shard 2.jpg

More ranger armour fetishism, plus a ridonkulous amount of St. Patrick's Day mugs. I can't remember which shard the House Test Server was a clone of, but Jesus wept, they had their fair share of rich mothers.

    Ultra Wierd shard 3.jpg

Gems, gems and yet more gems. S'enough to make even King Midas feel self conscious.

    Ultra Wierd Shard.jpg

Yeah ! They do say that !

(Prime Example Of How I Used To Type Everything Like This, Believe Me, It Does Get Annoying)

    Wierd Shard 1.jpg

I guess the owner of this house figured 'five a day' wasn't remotely adequate.

    Wierd Shard 2.jpg

Another no draw tile, apart from that, largely unremarkable. Must try harder phantom house owner.

    Wierd Shard 3.jpg

    Oooh, blessed clothes, much better.

    Wierd shard 4.jpg

I had no clue what this was, and I have no clue now. Thus, it was impressive, and still is.

    Wierd Shard 5.jpg

You can't walk ON water, but you can walk WITH water.

    I'll get my coat.

    wierd shard 7.jpg

For some reason Orcs on the House Test Server would spawn in massive support groups, which were even bigger than the standard groups that you'd see on Ice Isle/in the wild. Pretty nifty.

A few more pictures to come !

A friend and I visited the Imanewbie house on his home server (whichever that was). Can't recall whether the chap pictured was an imposter or the real deal.

I guess when we visited Imanewbie what we were actually doing was furthering the cause of F.A.C.T (Feluccans Against Cocky Trammelites). Why? Because Trammel is rubbish, F.A.C.T.

    Still works !

A friend dies to an ancient wyrm, prior to them having the awesome graphic. They used to be black(ish) dragons. Good old re-hues.

The day I discovered an amorous Orc. Do Orcs ride bicycles? If so, I bet this guy was a demon behind the bike sheds after school (do Orcs go to school?).

    wierd shard 8.jpg

More from the House Test Server; Valorite and Ranger armour. You can't be a loser with a combination that powerful.

    wierd shard 9.jpg

A sign referring to the forums in those days. Heh, just jesting, but someone can probably work out which server this is based on that signpost.

    wierd shard 10.jpg

Bowl of bloody water, apart from that, just a bunch of stuff.

So yeah, s'about it really !

I hope they bring back memories. /thumbs up

    Damn you Kas!

I haven't played for years, but I keep browsing here as people I would call friends post here.

Every bloody time I get to a stage where I think "UO is in the past: Yeah, it was fun, but I've moved on now", some old-time bugger posts screenies which make me think "Oh hell; GW2 looks 10,000 times better than this, but it doesn't have..."

    I have a few questions:

    1) This is for the people who know stuff (I'm looking at you Petra)... I have no idea of my game login details, and probably don't have access to whatever email address was originally registered with in UO. How would I go about getting back into the game? I could give support details of character names / skills / what they were wearing / etc.

    2) Is there a short-term login option? I don't want to have to commit to 6 months of pre-paid game time.

    3) Would I actually see anyone i know ingame, or would I just see random muppets called Legolas934 or xxxMadMurdererxxx. The people who matter know who they are ;)

    4) How long would it take for me to become a viable character? My characters are all multi-legendary, and their suits were worth millions (back in the days when when millions were actually worth millions.)
I appreciate that I will have to do some building before I can take-on high-end stuff; but if I need 3 months of building before I can run Trammel Despise, then TBH, I won't bother.
(I do have have access to a mate with an up-to-date tame crafter who can make me gear)

    5) Now the big one... Do any of the folk I know / knew actually DO anything ingame?
If it's just gonna be "stand in Brit and chat", then we can do that perfectly well here.
Lots of my old PvP friends have returned, but a quick review of the PvP forums suggest that much of the PvP scene is exactly the same as it always was, but with an occasional different build. I am not interested in that.

Come on, convince me to wave my credit card at EA!

    1) Yes you can contact EA Mythic support with as much information as possible (inculding original CD keys if you have the boxeS)
    2) You can now create a 15 day account as trial without paying for anthing
    4) There are ways to raise all skills fairly fast, really depends what you wanna play

Enjoy and come back! Europa is still a cool place to play
