So, you're a gamer. You rush home from [school, work, shopping, the beauty parlor, wherever] and instantly log onto your favorite machine to play. You have every single Stratics Facebook page bookmarked on your iPad, and receive Tweets from us on your Android Phone. Somewhere in your house is a collection of gaming consoles, controllers, memory sticks, Windows 98 games you just don't have the heart to get rid of and at least 1 gaming magazine subscription you receive every month - with at least a box full of back issues sitting up in the attic. You also take notes of all the different ways something can be done. You abhor cheats, but don't mind testing the limits with the stated TOS. You are a rebel, a fighter, and you know how to spell, dammit! Well then, we need you! Two of you actually... Stratics is seeking to hire Managing Editors to handle Fan News as well as Strategies & Statistics related to our favorite addiction - Gaming. Fan News topics will be related to news stemming from our supported portals, as well as major industry news. The Strategies & Statistics will have to do with game guides, how-tos (and how not-tos) as well as stats and more related to our supported Portals. These two positions are not assigned to a singular portal, but relate to all of the Stratics Portals. These are telecommuting, contract positions with compensation based on contribution. Certain legal paperwork is involved. These is not volunteer or intern positions (however if you wish to not be paid, we won't mind). These Managing Editors will be accountable directly to the Editor in Chief and are responsible for writing, contributing, editing, and actively participating in the Publishing Division of Stratics. They will manage their own teams as well as contribute to the betterment of all Portals by working with other Managing Editors, Associate Editors, Staff Writers and possibly freelance or volunteer writers. If this sounds like you; if you think you can contribute to a team, and yet be a self-motivated creative while you adhere to schedules, deadlines and plans as set forth by the EIC and Executives of Stratics, then submit your resume/CV to [email protected] with "Managing Editor" in the subject line. We prefer a PDF, but will accept Word documents. And don't forget to check your spelling! This is a real chance to earn real-world experience and a little bit of extra cash which may help pay for your gaming addiction--err--activities. This is a very dynamic field with lots of potential for growth far into the future for the right person. An excellent opportunity for journalism students who just can't put down a game controller! The only real "odd" requirement is that you MUST have a creative imagination that is tempered by responsibility.
