Whos our producer??

Discussion in 'UHall' started by kennykilleduo, Jun 3, 2008.

  1. Found this here , sounds fishy:

" I would like to take some time to answer some of the most common questions that I have spotted on the various DAoC forums, as well as to share some highlights of the Origins ruleset. But before I do so, I’d like for you all to know that I am also an avid player of Dark Age myself, having leveled many characters to 50 across multiple servers and realms. For example, I remember the old days of leveling off wolves outside of the Albion portal keep in Odin’s Gate. Over the years, I’ve maxed out all six craft skills and I’ve bought a few houses and I’ve gone on many, many keep and relic raids. Like many of you, Dark Age was my first MMO, and it’s a game that will always have a special place in my geeky heart. I’ve been with Mythic (now EA Mythic) for over seven years. For the entirety of my employment at Mythic, I have never left the DAoC project. My vision for the design of this new server is driven by my and my team’s own understanding of and experience with Dark Age, as well as yours, our Community of Team Leads, players and former players who wish to come back and experience not just the ‘nostalgia’ of this server, but a truly fun and compelling gameplay experience.

The most common question continues to be, “Is this really going to happen?”

Origins has been in development for a couple of months now. We have been working with our Team Leads (as part of the Team Lead program) to work through the various gameplay details, ideas, and issues, while also collecting and reading your feedback. Our schedule requires around four to five months of development. This means that since the server has been in development for two months already, we still have another two to three months before it’s ready for primetime. Right now, launch is slated for the August/September timeframe. However, this is also subject to change. Ideally, I want the server to receive at least one month of internal and external beta testing, but preferably six to eight weeks to allow us time to react to feedback and make changes or additions that will provide for the best play experience possible. This is also why your involvement as a Community is critical to us, and why we’re holding a couple of IRC chats later this week.

Second on the list of most popular questions is, “What is this server all about?” "

    Best regards,

    Christopher Rabideau

    Producer, Dark Age of Camelot

    Then theres this:

I wanted to share with you a significant change that is about to take place with the UO development team. Over the next several months, we'll be moving the team from its current location at EA's headquarters outside of San Francisco, CA to the EA Mythic studios in Fairfax, VA.

So what does this mean to you? This is a big move for the team, but we expect it to have very little impact on the game and community in the short term. Planned development and operations will continue with minimal interruption.

In the long term, we believe this move will be a big win for UO and will allow us to better support the game as we move into its second decade of operation. By having all three MMO teams together here in Virginia, we'll be better able to focus on Ultima Online’s development and ensure a long and lively future for the game.

Moving the UO team into the same studio that currently houses the Dark Age of Camelot and Warhammer Online teams has other advantages as well. We'll be bringing a wealth of MMO experience together under one roof with a clear studio vision and strong leadership. This will benefit all three titles as we'll be able to share resources, experience and technology to continue to improve all of our games.

    Thank you,

    Chris Rabideau

Yes he is duel producer for both games. The problem is he has only shown an interest in DAOC since being put in charge of UO. Besides an announcement message he has never laid out a plan or anything like he does for DAOC. UO's lead of the live team is probably the acting producer now. Here is the priority list for EA Mythic.

    1) Warhammer Online
    2) Dark Age of Camelot
    3-nth) Other Stuff
    Last) Ultima Online

Well ... until "the old forums" data is reintegrated/accessible
(Where jeremy put an actual "organization tree up" ... and so: unverifiable IF this part of the org/chart was covered )

Until then ...Calvin Crowner 05 Feb 2008 ...Calvin Crowner 11 Apr 2008 ...Calvin Crowner 14 May 2008
Is the producer ... he's the one claiming:
"This means that server crashes, staffing the team, schedule decisions, prioritizing bug fixes, squelching rumors, and emanating a general sense of well-being are well within my responsibilities for delegation. Restated: when it’s “broke” I try to figure out who is going to fix it. If it’s not broken I do my best to make sure it remains that way."

Thats a producer ... title notwith standing ...
    Ain't Comm rep
    Ain't Deving (coding)
    Ain't Graphics (art)

 you all are too dang hung up on "titles"

    Chris Rabideau .............. Calvin Crowner
Producer, Ultima Online ....Development Manager for Ultima Online
    EA Mythic .....................EA Mythic

  4. Didnt ask for idiot canned response ( do you workfor EA??) just a solid answer , My wquestion will come full circle in a day or 2..

1 person claiming to be a producer for 2 active games waiting for expansions is not good for one...

1)Is Kilandra your real name or is it her character/stage name?

Kilandra has been a real life nickname for me for over 10 years. Everyone calls me Kil for short though.

    2) Your title is "Assistant Development Manager" is that only for Ultima Online or is it for other EAMythic games titles?

That is for Ultima Online as well as Dark Age of Camelot.

    3) If you are the "Assistant" who is the "Development Manager"?

The Development Manager for Ultima Online is Calvin Crowner,
if you’re asking who I report to, that would be the producer of Ultima Online, Chris Rabideau. [IMG]

    Better ?
    probably not ... oh can-opener-less-one ...
as before ... you all are too hung up on "titles" ...

there are a variety of positions within the industry referred to as producer.

*takes ... oops! .. debits account for tutelage*

*confusion sets in, starts chasing tail*

lays down in the corner, tail tucked in...confused...very confused.

:pint::pancakes::danceb: <----- My summary of the answer.
  11. Liar ... never said both ...
The first "chicken" ... was hatched from an egg laid by the precursor to "chicken" .... known as a na-chicken ...(near-chicken).

The hatched "chicken" was able to cross breed with its clutch members, as is normal for quite a large percentage of the animal kingdom, provided that the correct genetic structure has evolved ... as evidenced by the dominance/survival of the "chicken" as opposed to the extinction of its progenators "na-chickens".

chickens: stable genetic structure; few mutations ... na-chickens: unstable genetic structure: one mutation and "poof!" beer drinkers think they have a puzzle/riddle.

Well, male beer drinkers ... are amused with their "puzzler" ...
All females already knew the answer to "Which came first...the chicken or the Egg"
It was that damn testosterone driven Rooster that did, AND left the female, immediately looking for the next conquest or another male to fight with ... leaving HER needs un-met and a brood coming to nest and tend and raise and not so much as a call before it starts all over again ...

    Ha! *snap!*
