WWI 2008 in Paris - Still Awake 35 Hours Straight

I am writing this article with 35 hours since I was last sleeping. I woke up at 6:30 AM CST Thursday morning to get ready and leave for the airport. After a flight delay on my connecting flight I arrive in Paris at 7:30 AM Friday morning (Paris time - roughly 12:30 AM CST).
I simply couldn't let my first trip to Paris go to waste so I had to go site seeing before the Blizzard event started Saturday, so I knew if I wanted to see the sites that Paris had and knowing I may never have the chance again off I sailed. It is now 1 AM Saturday morning as I write this.
So what did I do all day? Well, nothing seriously Blizzard or World of Warcraft related. You can see the sites I visited in our photos album (Which we hope to have up shortly) and I did get to meet various people in the media organizations (Electric Playground, Blizzplanet, Ten Ton Hammer - just to name a few).
I had a chance to run by the convention center where the event will be held (but didn't have my camera) and posted outside were a bunch of banners (including a 2 story one) of the World Wide Invitational artwork (you can see by going to WWI08 page). Right across the street from the convention center I got to sit down and eat true French cuisine with Nethera and Tseric whom are part of the community management team for WoW. This wasn't an interview type setting, just an informal gathering and talking about everything from WoW, to video games in general, to just life in general. While I did try to trick them both into letting slip what the big announcement might be tomorrow neither one of them were caving (I'm still convinced at Diablo 3).
There are a couple interesting tidbits I think everyone will be interested to hear though regarding Wrath of the Lich King. Tseric had said one of his favorite things and something he thinks players will enjoy is how open the new lands are going to be. When you go back and look at old Azeroth or even the Burning Crusade lands most of the continents are divided by mountains and have one or 2 paths you can venture through to get to a new area. In the new lands this isn't going to be the case as everything is going to be open and not have a specific path you have to take to get somewhere.
When asked what their favorite thing is in Wrath of the Lich King was (that they are allowed to talk about), both had responded that they really enjoy the new lands and the new quests. Tseric had also mentioned he really loves the new architecture in the game as it surpasses and goes above and beyond anything that the Burning Crusade had.
So with all of that said, I'm off to catch some sleep before the big event tomorrow. I'll try to have some updates from the floor as soon as they happen and should have photos up sometime in the evening. Unfortunately all video I take will have to wait until I return to the states, but it will totally be worth it as it will all be taken in High Definition. So please make sure you check back often in the next coming days to get the latest from WWI in Paris!
PS - Coca Cola tastes PHENOMENAL in France. Sugar high!
