Come on Devs are you going to turn the on the Meer event? or just keep teasing us?

At this point I think everone is ready to move forward on the Bane event.
  2. I've really, really forgot even what this event is about. The whole Bane event just doesn't... seem... to be... an event.

The ophidian/bane battle was fantastic, but jaded UO players don't seem to appreciate it as they once did. If only it had happened before all these returning players came back!
  4. The Ophidian battles were pretty good, but that's not quite it at all. I thought I understood what was going on between the Bane Chosen and Ophidians... then Cal say we didn't, maybe the Bane were evil? And the story line just kinda dropped. Now we have the Bane-Meer conflict... what do the two have to do with each other? Why are we killing Meer people now? It's just too disjointed, doesn't make sense yet. The hints so far have just made the story line worse.
  5. i thought the bane chose the meer next due to the yew decay and infection. i still think the devs got put off by the myriad of complaints from the last event, and are letting the players more or less do what they want concerning this arc.

When the Bane/Ophidians war ended I lost track of what happened next.

Only thing I heard is that no crystalline blackrock is no longer needed for bane stew but some crystals which Meers drop are needed instead ?

Oh, and I heard that the ophidians' potions are purchaseable now and that the points can exceed 2,500 now but not sure to what purpose.

Is that it or is there something else like new rewards or something ?

    I am confused.

    I wrote a longer response to Cal's last statement here but to shortly recap here, the current state of the event is as follows;

1.) Meer Reputation is gained by killing Bane, which also pushes Ophidian reputation higher now too.

2.) Bane Reputation is gained by killing Meer.

3.) Only the Bane have a camp, and it's stationary. There is a Recruiter inside who will take 20 Power Crystals for Blackrock Stew. The Ophidians now sell you the potions for just over 1k, if you have the reputation. The Meer so far neither have a camp nor sell anything.

4.) We're supposed to be being "humble", but no one knows how to do this. We've also been chided for "falling in line with the easiest route to get the spoils of the game."... which may end up dooming Magincia.

5.) The stolen Crystal from Castle British's throne room has something to do with the event too, but we couldn't prevent it being taken, so now all we can do is wait.

I personally am not turning in Power Crystals... even ones taken from Blackthorn minions, to feed my Bane Dragon, which is ironically owned by someone with full Ophidian reputation who went and tamed it as he would any other Evil Karma creature like a Nightmare. As the event stands though, that and killing more Bane is the only option left to resist supporting the villains apparent of this event.
And even my character with Bane Reputation isn't touching the Meer (he doesn't like Ophidians because of the invasion, but he draws the line at killing the true innocents) ... but frankly, the whole thing at this present point is just pointless and frustrating.

well they definately fight when they see each other. Maybe we are supposed to actually kick off the battle somehow.

Maybe. But more likely it is just another half-finished idea that is on hold while they are in "lockdown" mode preparing the demos for the "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT" that comes on the 28th.

I still have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing in this event, so my group just quit doing it and went about our business. The Bane are red after all. That doesn't seem like a good thing, and I'm not about to kill 1000s of blue Meer unless I know exactly what will happen from it.

We need some input from someone that actually knows before we can continue.
