4 or 5 years ago, i opened a Christmas present, it was a raw potato in a beautifully wrapped gift box.
This gift was from my husband, and he told me that it represented the guinea pig that it was now time for me to acquire.
You see, I had talked for years about wanting a guinea pig, and how much i thought they looked like cute little potatoes.
Well, a few days later, i bought my perfect lil guinea pig from a breeder, and I named her Tater.
I still have her, and she is doing well, for being an old lady.
What a surprise it was for me tonight, when i was doing my yule festival quests.
Although my character is an elf, i decided to go ahead and turn in 5 of my Yule Festival Tokens for a Hobbit Gift Box.
After i opened it, I was surprised, shocked, and astounded all at the same time.
Normally, i would have been slightly miffed by this gift, seeing as how i spent a fair bit of time earning the tokens for it.

    It was a Tater!

    Yes, a 6p Tater!
    I was delighted!!!

I'm reminded of one of the most wonderful gifts that i could ever receive, a beautiful creature of God, named Tater!

It made me think, you know, there really is nothing to ever be dissapointed about, no matter what!
How lucky we are, to have so many blessings, this week of Christmas 2008!
We've got internet for goodness sake!
No matter how bad our American economy can get, no matter how great or how lousy the presents we unwrap this Thursday may be, what is really important is that we have family, friends, pets, and our lives.
  2. Thats a good story.
