The Prophecy

The Prophecy historically has had a bit of a unappealing role. In high-sec during the first many years, as the first go-to battlecruiser for Amarr pilots while they were skilling up – untill they could fly the Harbinger, or as obvious bait ships in PVP due to the great armor tank you could mount on it.

Now, with a new role and new bonuses – it will hopefully see a bit more use for a variety of Battlecruiser pilots.

Traditionally it has always been a laser boat with a medium drone bay, but due to the old bonuses it would always be outperformed by the Harbinger with its slightly lower defenses but better DPS due to the ship bonuses.

Prophecy by CCP

A new change was released in 2013, meaning that the old ships got new and differing roles which has created new uses for the old battlecruisers.

Prophecy:

  • Amarr Battlecruiser skill bonuses:
4% bonus to all Armor Resistances
10% bonus to drone damage and hitpoints
  • Role Bonus: Can fit Warfare Link modules
  • Slot layout: 5 H, 4 M, 7 L, 4 turrets, 4 Launchers
  • Fittings: 1100 PWG, 415 CPU
  • Defense (shields / armor / hull): 3000 / 5500 / 4000
  • Capacitor (amount / recharge rate / average cap per second): 2850/ 750s / 3.8
  • Mobility (max velocity / agility / mass / align time): 150 / 0.704 / 12900000 / 8.5s
  • Drones (bandwidth / bay): 75 / 225
  • Targeting (max targeting range / Scan Resolution / Max Locked targets): 50km / 210 / 6
  • Sensor strength: 17 Radar
  • Signature radius: 270
  • Cargo capacity: 400

With new bonuses and stats comes new roles.

Lets take a look at what a mission runner could look like…

Medium Armor Repairer II

The ‘traditional’ mission fits would alleviate towards 2-3 mission specific hardeners (you’ll need to swap around for other resistance profiles depending on mission), 1-2 repair modules and gank modules in the form of (in this case a laser boat) heat sinks. In this case I’ve added a 1600 plate to beef up the EHP to increase staying power, but if its your first mission you can increase the tank modules to add more resistance and decrease DPS until you feel comfortable enough to add more gank (dps).

This means we’ll go with lasers in the high slots and a NOS for a bit of extra cap injection. You can usually feed cap off an orbiting NPC ship. In case not, it will be stable for 2.5 minutes. Bear in mind that most of the damage will actually be done by your drones. As you can see if you try it in EFT, it is not cap stable. If you want cap stability, drop all but the AB, and take it with 3 cap rechargers and you’ll be damn close. Good thing that the Prophecy can now sport missiles though, so you can actually change to missiles (which is cap independant) and almost become cap stable.

Hammerhead II x5

Needless to say, having such a large drone bay leaves room for salvage drones as a luxury 1st world good. With missiles comes more versatility as well.

PVP

In the classic tackle/bait role, you can easily fit a decent tank with DPS like a wet noodle, but excellent tackling capability as well.

Drones would be a range of ECM, Webbing, Neuting or other scout/damage drones to complement the fit.

EHP: +100k unbonused, but relying on fleet support for repairs. Missiles can be swapped for Autocannons.

The PVP fit can also be used for WH entry webbing duty for C5 escalations as Dread Support, with salvage drones if you exchange the tackle modules with webs due to the passive resistance modules not being affected by neuts.
