Ok, I’ll admit I fell for a prank on this one and thought I had it figured out, but I’m actually happy that I don’t have it solved, as the excitement of learning what this horseshoe does, takes a bit away from the fun of all the rampant speculation on what it could do.  Although with further testing I may be able to prove this is in fact the actual benefit.

If you haven’t heard about this item, it is a quest reward from Volume 3 Book 2 that provides an unspecified buff that is driving many crazy.  For a fun read, go ahead and check out the forums thread on this subject.

So, the ideas spread around are:

  • Increase in rare drop rate
  • may effect NPC text down the line
  • better legendary item identifications (countered in the forums)
  • crits not knocking off horse
  • /roll buff (debunked as well)
  • luck with skeleton horse drop in Haunted House (speculation, was tested on beta)
  • relic combination critical chance boost
  • urban legend
  • and a whole host of the ridiculous, including tiger repellant.

Now for those of you thinking it does nothing, Made of Lions has stated it has a verifiable in-game effect that was thoroughly tested.

I received a comment that posted what the horseshoe was supposed to do, but after testing it out I found out that either the comment was wrong, or that my test was wrong 🙂  Needless to say, it still is on my quick-slot bar and I do wear it quite often.

Feel free if you’d like to ask me about it personally to message me on twitter or email at [email protected] but I probably won’t confirm or deny what it does publicly such that I don’t spoil it for those who don’t want it spoiled.
