Tomorrow is server moving day so they’ll be down from 4am to roughly 4pm Eastern time.  I’m excited to see what this new hardware can do for general gameplay and some of the other server lag related gameplay issue they’ve had.  During that time if you need a LOTRO fix, Bullroarer will be up and available.

There’s a new Dev Diary up talking about the Yule festival which is also discussed by Goldenstar over on Casual Stroll to Mordor. Some good stuff, but for me the beer fight sounds REAL fun and I can’t wait to try it out.  The horse race is a little disappointing that it is solo now, but I can understand why they had to do it that way.  It is nice to see the race back in no matter what form it takes.  There’s also some good teasers that they’re planning to continue to build up and add new things to these festivals.

Tied into the festival is the next welcome back weekend which will be the 17th through 21st of December.  A good chance for those without active subs to come back and check Mirkwood and the skirmishes out for free.  You can also re-subscribe for the $9.99 monthly rates during this period.  And for everyone, there’s the 10% XP bonus (mob kills only) that does stack with rested XP!  If you have an inactive subscription, there’s nothing you need to do – it will be turned automatically for this event.
